There's an entire spring 2015 palette from Pantone:

I'm staying within my own personal color palette with a few additions as accents.

Tangerine

Custard

Sandstone

Toasted Almond

Titanium

Here is a link to the Pantone Spring 2015 pallette.

Marsala is in there but the rest of colors are much prettier and spring friendly. And the dress sketch they have as an example of how the colors work together is a Dennis Basso gown. Very pretty.

Thank you for posting this. No, marsala on its own may not be very "springy," but the idea is to combine it throughout the year with the other "chosen" colors.

Also, QVC is far from the only retailer/magazine/whatever to feature items that are "in the neighborhood" of the color of the year and associate them with said color -- I've seen it in other ads, spreads in magazines, etc. fairly frequently. It doesn't bother me in the least, and I try to keep in mind that the real point of QVC is to sell things. Smile

QVC and every other shopping channel has done that since shopping channels were invented. It is amusing that no one seems to really know what "marsala" is. So, all the hosts are saying that the color of the year is maroon or burgundy or wine or cranberry or even fushia....anything in the "marsala" family of colors. I like the color for fall/winter and I've noticed that a lot of the show hosts are already wearing on their lips but it's not a color that I would wear in warm weather.

Marsala is a type of wine; ever heard of Chicken Marsala? I believe Olive Garden has it on their menu.
