Will and Kate Visit Wales

[ Edited ]

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were greeted by excited crowds as they arrived in Mumbles, South Wales, this afternoon.

Will and Kate beamed as they strolled along the seafront to start a busy afternoon of engagements in the region.

The Duchess of Cambridge wrapped up against the blustery seaside air in a coat from high street label Hobbs, which she paired with what is thought to be a vibrant red dress from Zara.

The couple appeared in particularly good spirits and Kate was seen placing an affectionate hand on her husband's arm as they made their way towards RNLI's Mumbles lifeboat station.

Will and Kate arrived in Mumbles around lunchtime, where they met crew members from one of Wales' busiest RNLI lifeboat stations.

Will and Kate met members of the public at the popular seafront over looking Swansea Bay before heading to a quintessential British haven: an ice cream café. They headed to Joe’s Ice Cream Parlour, where they chatted with a group of local parents and caregivers about life in the area, which sits just west of Swansea.

They are chatting to staff and learning about the family behind the business.

Prince William said he has “heard a lot about Joe’s” while Kate asked if they still use the same ingredients.

The pair are now trying the most famous vanilla flavour.

@lmt   Thanks for the pics.  Love the pic of her w/her hand on his arm and the way they are looking at each other.  Also the last pic of him gently guiding her.

After visiting the local lifeboat station, the couple went on a walkabout along the blustery seafront, where they met people who had been standing in the cold for hours hoping to see the couple.

Made their day: The Duchess stopped to speak to a group of local schoolchildren who were at the seafront in Mumbles
