Re: Why the fit difference in different color pants, same size and style?

I ordered a white, denim and black in the same style and size of D&Co pant. The black pair fit smaller than the white and denim pair... so frustrating! If they are going to make certain colors of pants smaller than the other colors, they should let the customer know that in advance, then we could order a size up in that color.... Save with returns on their end wouldn't you say?{#emotions_dlg.angry}

I agree with the person who said to use the "defective" option for returns.

I wouldn't assume based on one of each color that it's because of the different color that one doesn't fit. I've pulled several pairs of jeans identical in size and color and found they didn't all fit the same way. Some were longer, some smaller or looser, etc. More than not being consistent from color to color, I don't believe they're consistent from pair to pair, period.

What surprised me a few years back when I was at Nordstrom looking for NYDJeans, the first thing my sales associate did was help me decide which size to buy. THEN, she brought me 3 different pairs in that size in the same color: "Because they'll all be a tad different." You'd think at NYDJ's prices that would not be true, but I'm guessing it all depends upon where each particular pair was in the cutting pile and no one sees those tiny differences until someone puts the garment on her body.

I always take at least two of the same size of whatever pants I'm trying on -- especially jeans -- into the dressing room with me. Occasionally, the fit is the same; more often than not, one fits better than the other. It's definitely not just QVC!

When clothing is mass produced in a factory there is a huge stack of fabric piled up and a machine comes down like a guillotine to cut it - the pieces on the top are smaller than those on the bottom because of the stretch of the fabric as the cutter goes through all the layers and pulls on it.So itemsmade from the pieces of fabric that are close to the top will be slightly smaller than those at the bottom.The more items in that style being made the higher the stack - and the more pronounced the size difference becomes.
