That's easy.....because they don't order a lot of product, he makes and designs quality clothes and they know he has loyal customers who love and appreciate his clothes.

I for one am thrilled when some of the Linea items don't sell out right away. It sure helps my budget for the month, when I can purchase other wanted items at a later time! I think that is a point that is a frustration for many of us. Usually, if you don't get what you want, the size, the color, etc at first showing or right after midnight before the show, you snooze, you lose. Maybe some get lucky with returns or cancelled orders for their sizes. More power to them! Unfortunately this is a way of life with the Q and its relationship with the Linea line.

Probably because the fiercely Linea Ladies and Louis' people communicate privately and he gives advance notice of items that are coming to the Q and he gives out item numbers. So, they monitor everything online and scoop up the newest merchandise as soon as it appears online. By the time he actually has a show, only broken sizes are available. He doesn't have a big inventory at Q anyway, so it would be pointless for QVC to give him prime time exposure. Why have customers calling in for items that are practically sold out? There's thread somewhere here with item numbers for things that coming mid summer.

Or, why doesn't the Linea line manufacture more clothing for everyone.
...because he can't. He doesn't have the resources that Susan Graver or Isaac Mizrahi have. His line is much, much smaller.

I agree, I never could understand why SG is on all the time. I hardly never have a chance to purchase Linea, because I am sleeping when he is presenting. Also QVC never lets us know when he is on.
The items I have purchased are outstanding. I bought 4 of his jackets this spring solely on the rec. of QVC ladies.

QVC is concentrating on its cheaper, mass-appeal, high-volume lines like D&C and SG. Linea is a higher-priced, higher-end line with a very loyal but much smaller following. QVC would prefer to sell 10,000 SG poly tops at $49.99 each rather than 500 Linea Whisper Knit tops at $79.99. More volume, more profit.

Think of it in terms of a dollar bill; SG is worth 85 cents to QVC and Linea is worth 3 cents. That's why SG gets the hours and Linea and other small clothing vendors do not. He simply cannot run with the big dogs. I don't think he wants to. That's not saying that the product isn't good, maybe even great. There simply is not enough available to warrant more air time. I'm saying this as someone who likes the look of Linea and I have been trying for at least two years to buy a complete outfit. I did buy two cardigans on .com last winter (don't know how that happened); I wanted skirts or pants in matching colors. I've been with QVC for 30 years and I never saw a Linea show because apparently they are on when I'm sleeping or at work. Although I've seen him on PMS and AMS a time or two. So, I was shopping for matching pieces online. Believe it when I tell you, I tried for most of the winter and I could never score the pants or skirts that went with the sweaters. I never saw my size (16, sometimes 18) and apparently that line doesn't restock. So, I think a month or so ago; I was home from work and there was a Linea show on. I thought this is my chance! New stuff! Well....no....it wasn't. I wear separates, I like matching pieces. As the show progressed, I tried to order two different outfits. Big joke! This was supposed to be all new stuff but if the top was available in my size, the pants were not. If the skirt was available in my size, the top was not. If a sleevless tank was available in my size, the jacket was not. It was like a light went off in my head, my very frustrated head...LOL There was no inventory to speak of! So, why was he standing there selling stuff that really wasn't available???? This Linea line doesn't need QVC shows, it has a very loyal following that is "plugged in" to the vendor and they get there first and scoop up the inventory. Nothing wrong with that, a sale is a sale. But QVC really shouldn't do shows when there is so little inventory.

Well.....yeahhhhhhh.....that's why QVC exists.....to make money.

Say what??? Louis has a personal blog and no "people' that deal with his customers. His blog is open to everyone who is interested in reading it or asking him questions, which he is always quick to answer. How these rumors get started and then considered fact is beyond me.
Also, Louis has nothing to do with how many of anything is ordered. The QVC buyer dictates which pieces are chosen to manufacture from the many, many sketches he offers them and how many pieces of each will be ordered. Even though he monitors production as best he can it is a manufacturer chosen by QVC.
For years we have begged for more inventory and because QVC refuses to increase it enough to satisfy demand, a lot of us have learned that if there's something we really want then we'd better order at midnight the night before his shows, because that is when it is loaded into the computer. Due to the situation that QVC has created, and the way we've learned to deal with it, by show time a lot of things have sold out or are in very broken sizes and colors. If it were up to Louis I'm sure he would love to have enough pieces for everyone but that is not his decision.
There is no one who does more for his customers or tries harder to please us, which at times is not very easy given the constraints he is under and I'm sure some of the shenanigans that go on here. Louis gives his "sneak peeks" as he calls them, so the customers will know what was chosen by the buyers and what will be available in each of his upcoming shows. He does this so that his customers have time to plan in advance what they'd like to order and what will fit into their budget. Again, this is PUBLIC information and there's no secret club, code, or inside information that isn't available to anyone who is interested.
In response to your comments in 2 other threads, one being that Louis simply does not have the resources that IM and SG have, what resources are you referring to? They all have QVC's resources, not any different from one to the other, other than what QVC decides to order. In years past before "new" management took over Louis was on in prime time very often and did several TSVs every year both in Spring and Fall collections and around Christmas. It's only since Claire Watts from Walmart and Mike George from Dell took over did they decide to get rid of most legitimate designers and relegate awful hours with incredibly small inventory to the ones they kept.
