When you wear cardigans or jackets...

do you:

1) button/zip them up

2) partially button/zip them up

3) leave them unbuttoned/unzipped

And can you tell us why this is your preference? Cat Happy

Leave open - unless it is too cold - because I'm fat and loose looks better, to be totally honest.

Re: When you wear cardigans or jackets...

Most often, I button the three middle buttons.  I'm a little thick around the middle, and this creates a slimming effect.  With some of my cardis, though, I leave them completely open. I think I do that mostly with the lighter weight cardis. I wear those mostly in the hottest months, to create a bit of modesty.  We're not supposed to wear sleeveless tops to school, so the light cardi adds sleeves and a pop of color, without making me too warm.

No rules.

I do whatever I feel like. Chilly? closed. Warmish ? Open.

I wear my cardigans (either long or 3/4 sleeves) buttoned up, with no tank underneath.

I'm just not a layered look kind of person.  I love seeing things layered on other people, but on me, I find myself readjusting the tank and cardigan all the time if I have something under it.  I just fuss with it all too much.

I'm a huge fan of the Talbot's Charming cardigans.

I did however, just buy a Boyfriend v neck cardigan at Talbots on clearance.  Love that it's longer length and this cardigan is SO soft.  Now, I've worn it a few mornings at home because I've gotten a little cool and I've worn it open over my nightgown (stunning fashion look- LOL) and I haven't fussed with it at all.

The v neck boyfriend cardigan from Talbots's is my favorite purchase this summer.  I bought it in 3 colors.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

It depends what kind of cardigan.

Mostly I leave them open.  I don't like to feel confined.

A thin, fitted cardigan I like to button at my waist, leaving the top and bottom open.

#3.  I leave them open because too many layers are uncomfortable.  When I wear a cardigan or jacket, my top is usually sleeveless or short sleeved.   Also, I like how cardigans and jackets look when left open.

Mostly zipped or buttoned, I like a fitted look. Sometimes I will wear a jacket open, but never a cardi.

I have no preference.  It depends on everything about the particular cardigan, outfit, and what I'm wearing underneath it (if anything) at the time.  I couldn't possibly give a single answer to this.
