OMG. Ladies, step AWAY from the banded bottom tops! {#emotions_dlg.crying} They are not your friend no matter what your size or shape.

OMG, there isn't ANY style that is universally good or bad. It depends on the individual figure, contrary to what you proclaim! Good grief.

INC International Concepts Three-Quarter-Sleeve Printed Peasant Top

INC International Concepts Printed Peasant Blouse

Cute! I would wear both...bless my heart. ;-)

.......and if you're slim like these models, you'll look just fine. The problem is larger women who are wearing puffy-middle banded tops to "hide" their puffy middles. No go.

Cute tops......and again, slender models who look good in these banded-bottom styles.

I pretty much ignore any post that states how "such and such looks horrible on EVERYBODY" or "NOBODY looks good in such and such."

LOL .... whether I ignore them or not, it's pretty obvious they don't know what they're talking about!

I think a banded bottom top would flatter someone with a thick waist. It certainly would hide muffin top.

Mine!  Too thick in waist, too slim in hips.  I love banded hem tops (or bubble bottom hems) because I look horrid with anything tucked in.  Currently I have zero banded hem tops in my closet . . . hint, hint.

@Coco Butter Bean I assume you are speaking about women.  It depends on where the banded bottom hits on the body.  As long as it hits on a thin part, it's probably flattering.  Think belt.
