What I Wore 9/8/24...

[ Edited ]

Hi fashion friends.

A few weeks ago on my last WIW thread, someone impersonating me hacked into my account and made the unbelievable, laughable, eye-rolling claim that I wouldn't buy any more white button front shirts! 😲 As if!! I'm sure y'all caught on to the hack and didn't believe a word of it, right? That's good because I bought yet another white button front shirt a week ago at the beach.  Hackers take note: I'm going with "a woman cannot have too many white button front shirts" and that's my final say on the matter.

We had several days of hot/humid/normal (for us) summer weather these past few weeks and a few rainy days, but more days of sunny summer-ish days...mid to upper 70s with low humidity (California weather, I call it). It's much too early for this kind of weather here, but I'm not complaining.

Handsome and I went to the beach for a few days, and, naturally, my first stop was my favorite beach consignment. Naturally, Handsome's first stop was the fishing pier. A good time was had by all. 😁

#1
A great piece from my beach consignment haul ($20): Avenue Montaigne off- white slim pull-on stretch capri (76% cotton, 22% poly, 2% elastane...looks/feels like lightweight denim). Comfortable, fun, and versatile. For the life of me I couldn't get an accurate picture of the blue and tan colors and subtle floral pattern (like a watercolor painting), but I checked their website and the full-length bootcut (was $290, now $60) is still available with a better picture...

*Capris worn with thrifted Doncaster embroidered linen blouse and old Eileen Fisher organic linen tank.

#2
*Thrifted Frank & Eileen pale blue sweatshirt. *Calvin Klein xbody (Marshalls). *Bueno "caramel" leather sandals (Nordy).

#3
The capris have an inch and a half hem, so I can cuff them to make pedal pushers (some call this length clam diggers). I like the capri length, but I LOVE the pedal pusher length.

*Thrifted (beach consignment, a steal at $25 that I couldn't resist 😁) The Boyfriend Shirt by Rochelle Behrens with two hidden buttons at bustline to prevent gaping...no safety pin needed...still on their website for $130.

#4
*Thrifted (beach consignment, $12) Alison Sheri lightweight jacket with lime green cuffs and zipper...perfect length, perfect sleeves, and perfect weight for summer nights and into early fall.

#5
*Thrifted (several years ago) Brooks Brothers linen shirt (denim color). *Old Chicos linen beach pants...they look tapered in this pic, but there're a subtle A-line silhouette.

Couple of close-ups...

The cuff looks yellow, but is a mother-of-pearl off-white (thrifted, $3).

LDO Linea bar necklace...

I have to say how truly blessed I am to be able to still go shopping and be interested in fashion.  It's so much fun finding a bargain and putting together outfits and shopping my closet.  It's also a blessing to "know" so many women (i.e. y'all❤️) online with whom to share this interest.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there.

Have a great week, ladies!

#3 - I'm with you - nothing like a good white shirt or blouse

#5 - I love the whole of this outfit and the cuff is magnificant

Those pesky hackers!

All of your outfits are styled so well.  A talent for thrifting and putting it all together.  I am older and also still enjoy thinking about what I am going to wear with what, even if I have nowhere to go, which is most days 😀

I like the shape of the light blue sweatshirt in the 2nd picture.

@MacDuFF   Good morning. All of your outfits are great for the climate where you live. I was drawn to #5: the lightweight jacket with lime green cuffs. It's a versatile outer piece that you can probably wear most of the year.

@MacDuFF @I like all of the outfits. Always amazed at the way u pull outfits together. I think having a great figure helps🙂 I have a lot of clothes and I pretty much wear the same thing everyday. I live in a pretty poor county so thrifting here is not very successful. Thanks again for posting.

@MacDuFF  I am sure you recall that I have made my dislike of white button down collar shirts known more than once, BUT I swear, I did not hack your account and put up false notions about your purchasing preferences!!!  Honest!!

Whew - now that I have cleared the air on that, (lol), I have to say that the Avenue Montaigne pants (in the bootcut Woman Wink) are great.  Surprising how they certainly read white in the picture.

Your jewelry is always spot on!

Glad you had a great get away with handsome.  We all need that sometimes.

You and your thread are always a blessing my friend.
