Hi fashion friends.

Other than the fact that I "cheated" a little on my 2023 fashion challenge, it's a bit of a shocker that we're almost to the end of February, and I've purchased exactly one item from B&M and my thrifting has been well under control.

My challenge this year is a low-buy, thrift-only challenge...jeans and cashmere sweaters are excluded because, if I find black AG Harpers or a good deal on cashmere, I'm buying them I don't care what they cost or where I get them!

#1
*Thrifted Mendocino polo cashmere sweater (lightweight enough for spring...base layers in fall/winter).  I redeemed myself with this one for stooopidly passing up that $4 Orvis spring green cashmere a few weeks ago haha. This color is better for me than spring green anyway. *Levi's Dad jeans are still in play...I love them. *Converse Jacks. *Thrifted silvertone link necklace.

(This color is accurate)

Layers nicely with my Steve Madden jacket and an old cashmere blend scarf from SteinMart (miss that store!!)...

#2
*Old Amicale camo cashmere (lightweight enough for spring...base layers in fall/winter). *Rag & Bone Miramar Mia "jeans"...my "cheat." They're not denim. They're white cotton sweatpants with everything you see being printed on. They're not technically jeans, but I'm calling them jeans to justify breaking the challenge haha. $89 at the Rack. Casual and comfortable enough to wear for my OG nap, but enough "style" to answer the door or run an errand. *Silver convertible Converse Chucks.

This close-up pic is from Farfetch today...price is $305. I don't use the belt.

#3
*Thrifted handmade teal merino wool cardigan...rivals my pink Arancraft in every way, except price...I paid $4. *Walmart men's tee. *AG Harper midtone. *Blondo boots.

Have a great week!

@MacDuFF   You look smashing in the symphony of blues in the first pictures.  Blue seems to be YOUR color..

I also  love the teal wool jacket, which is MY color.

Love the blue polo sweater...what a great find. I have a similar one in Light Heather gray. I may have spent more than $4. Maybe. Smiley Happy

I love the jeans that aren't jeans. They look very fun. I wouldn't wear with that belt either.

Thanks @Kachina624   Yes, blue and pink are my colors (black, white & grey are my neutrals).  I wore teal a lot with my natural hair color...dark chestnut.  I'm not sure about it with the grey.  I'm having trouble with what to wear with it.  I prefer white over black, but both work.  I thrifted a Talbot's cotton henley in mint green yesterday from the dollar rack to wear with my black pajama bottoms.  They both happened to be on the bed with a pile of clothes, and they might as well have been saying, "pair us!"  Sure enough, they look great together...go figure.  All that blahblahblahing to ask you to recommend some other colors I might try with teal.

@Desert Lily   Thank you.  That Mendocino is a beaut, for sure.  Made in Hong Kong.  I don't know if it's still a "thing," or even if it ever really was a "thing," but a few of the older women in my family (think Grandmother's generation) used to say that items made in Hong Kong were top notch.

Hi @kate2357   Yeah, I think that sweater is destined to go down as one of my best and favorite thrifts.   "The jeans that aren't jeans" hahaha!  That's what I'm going to call them from now on.  I'm going to try and "dress them up" like the FarFetch model.

@MacDuFF  My late BF & I went to SteinMart about once a month on Saturdays (when I wasn't at 1 of my child's functions) followed by lunch at one of the nearby restaurants to recuperate after shopping LOL.

Then it was off to Chico's & maybe the mall.

Didn't SteinMart carry some Bob Mackie items? (I think ours did, if I remember correctly.)

Great costume jewelry, great selection, & great prices there.

@MacDuFF   I treat teal/turquoise colors like neutrals and especially like to wear them with pale yellow, coral, rust, navy, pale aqua, purple shades even touches of red.  Of course lots of silver and turquoise jewelry.

@MacDuFF   Happy Sunday! The blue cashmere sweater is my favorite because it has a collar which adds a nice touch. The color of the blue is very pretty, too.

It's hard to believe that the pants in picture #2 aren't jeans! They sure look like jeans to me.  You wear them well.
