1. Talbots is running a sale today - $49 for all dresses & skirts and 40% off everything else.

2. Any orders that ship out of Talbots Massachusetts warehouse will be put on hold until MA's restriction related to nonessential business operations is lifted. At that time, your order will be shipped, you'll be notified that it's on its way and your credit card will be charged. There are some "direct fulfillment stores" that will continue to ship merchandise in a timely manner.

The emails I've received from Talbots said there may be some delays, but didn't state that they were holding items shipped from their main warehouse. I didn't ask about it until I realized I hadn't received an item that I ordered with something else that I had already received. In my case, the delay isn't a problem because I don't need my items for a special event or purpose. But you need to take the delay into consideration if you're planning to wear your items for a special or time-sensitive purpose.

@Eileen in Virginia. Yes that is exactly what happened with my order. Two of the three items were shipped from stores and one didn't ship for a while and I didn't know what was happening with it so I called CS. They told me it would ship when the distribution center reopens whereupon I canceled that order with the person I spoke to and I received a cancellation confirmation.

@Pearlee  Both of my items are Spring/Summer, so it's early enough in the season that their warehouse will open in time for me to wear them. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 However, Talbots could have been clearer in their notices to their customers. There's a big difference between "some delays may occur" and "our warehouse is closed until the restrictions are lifted". If  I'd needed them for a time-sensitive occasion, I wouldn't be a happy camper.

Re: Talbots - 2 Things

[ Edited ]

I have had the worst luck trying to order online from Talbots.  And this was before the virus.  I am surprised they were not more forth coming with letting customers know about the delay.

I have decided to only shop at my local store, in person.  The sales associates are wonderful there and always give the best service.  Of course, I will have to wait to shop until this dern virus subsides.........

@Eileen in Virginia. I was "iffy" about ordering the item I cancelled anyway and wasn't sure of the size I'd need (yoga pants) so I was just as glad to cancel. I agree about T's needing to let customers know exactly what the delay is.

@4kitties. I always prefer going to the store rather than the site but the online sale was really good so I couldn't resist. Also there is a lot online that isn't available in the stores.

@Pearlee

Oh yes.  This recent online sale was fantastic!  I was truly tempted but the last several online tries have been so frustrating I was able to resist!🤣🤣.  I cannot wait to be able to visit my Talbots store and TJ Maxx and Marshall 's.

Dern this virus..............
