Re: Talbot's New Spring Clothes

They do have some really cute things for Spring. I tried on a navy/white stripe peplum top that was SO CUTE on!  I'm going to wait for a better % off since we are in the middle of Winter and wouldn't be able to wear it for a few months anyways. I have a few other things on my wish list. I think their Spring/Summer pieces are much cuter than Winter selection.

I returned something at a T's yesterday and saw on display a new spring sweater.  Beautfiul green background color with navy anchors all over it and one white anchor.  the anchors are done in rhinestones!  Not gaudy - just very cool.  I'm not an "anchor" person at all but I thought the sweater was adorable.

As I posted elsewhere, i also really like the white striped sweater with a big red heart in the middle of it.  I tried it on at the store too last week - so soft!   I do expect that one to go down in price fairly shortly after Valentine Day so I'm not even considering buying that one in the near future.

That green anchor sweater is on Talbots front page on-line. Eh yea I think it is a bit gaudy. I'd have to see it in person though.

Re: Talbot's New Spring Clothes

I was at T's today and tried on two new spring items (didn't buy - there's a 25% off entire full price items starting tomorrow and bonus points too).

@gidgetgh  I tried on your new poppy sweater and wow - it looked good on me! It's very pretty both off and on.  I love the two shades of blue in it - the navy for the poppies and the lighter shade of blue for lighter shades of jeans (bleached, etc.) to "spring it up."

It's a beautiful one from the charming line.  I'll wait til much later in the season to buy it though.  It's not at all my usual style but I really like it.

The other item I tried on was the anchor sweater with all those rhinestone anchors.  I still love the sweater but it didn't really look that great on me - perhaps the green background  color or pehaps the cut.  I do think the rhinestone anchors are very tastefully done and not gaudy at all. I'm not sure I like that one white one though - it looks odd and I'd rather they be all navy.  Even though I won't be buying it because it didn't flatter me nearly as much as the poppies sweater did, I think out in the sunlight those anchors will really dazzle and be beautiful.  I love glitz!  And as I say, these are very tasteful.   The charming sweater is definitely on my "to buy" list for later in the season though.  A fun trip today.   I had a 15% additional off coupon expiring today so I went to two different T's and managed to buy a couple of 60% off clearance items and use it for the additional savings.

@Pearlee- I think that Poppies charming cardigan is a real winner.  Doesn't look like much online or in person really, till you try it on.  I love it.  Can't wait to wear it.

Yesterday, I received the pink sweater with the white dots on it.  Tried it on last night.  I really like it.  I can wear a large in some things and an extra large in others.  I ordered the extra large, based on the one review and was glad I did.  The sweater doesn't have alot of "give" to it.

So today, I have my card ready for 25% off, 3x points and 100 bonus points!  Think I'll go to one of my local stores and take a look.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Re: Talbot's New Spring Clothes

@gidgetgh I'm trying to talk myself out of getting the poppies charming cardigan during this 25% OFF plus 3X bonus points plus 100 extra points sale!  It's still quite costly with the 25% off and I know it'll be cheaper later on.  Yes, I'll get another rewards certif. or close to it if I buy it which is the equivalent of another $25 off something else but still....it's costly.   What do you think?

@Pearlee- I'm the great enabler, so I'm probably not the best person to ask, LOL, but you get 25% off, 3x points AND a bonus 100 points. That's a good enough deal for me. 100 points=$10.

They seem to order pretty deep on their clothes, but, if it were something I really wanted, I wouldn't wait. On a borderline item I might wait but, alas, I usually don't.

Re: Talbot's New Spring Clothes

@gidgetgh  I was at T's last night and saw a darling scarf that I think is supposed to match the poppy charming cardi.   White background with large navy polka dots and  few poppies in navy on it.  Very cute standalone scarf.  That one is in my future....

Re: Talbot's New Spring Clothes

@Steffdoggy10got my attention when she mentioned the peplum top so I checked it out and found this adorable plaid!

talbots peplum.jpgWish I could make it bigger but suffice to say it's super cute and also comes in a red plaid; price is right too! This very well could be my first Talbot's purchase.

Never mind, my size is long gone! Woman Frustrated
