After a few presentations, I decided that I like it. I ordered the gray. I plan to put it to use on chilly nights at home. I'll dress it up with a pair of black ankle pants, a turtleneck or white long sleeve blouse. I think I might also like it with a long straight black or gray skirt with high heel booties.
I think I like the way it poofs out on the sides. It has a unique shape. It also looks as though it might slightly emphasize the back side. But if it does so in a good way and flatters that particular feature. I'm in. Otherwise, back it goes.

O ordered one late yesterday after thinking about what I might find it useful for that I don't have currently covered.
I try not to shop for Fall until I have unpacked my Fall/Winter clothes, since when I look in my closet right now, I would think I had no warm clothing!
I thought about all the car trips I have ahead and this wrap makes more sense than a coat or jacket for car trips. I can wear it loosley draped open while driving and hold it tighter when we make rest stops and quick run-ins along the way.
I will probably decide where the shawl collar looks best, and then tack it in several places so that I don't have to arrange it every time.

Because it's cut in a circular fashion, when you put it on, it forms baggy pouches that balloon out at the high hip area.
If you are a very large dress size without any kind of waist you could probably pull it off as it will add to the majestic look. If you're anything below about an XL it will be extremely unflattering.
if you could still read the reviews of the previous item number, you would see the pattern of those who love it - they're all the very generously sized ladies and it looked great on them.
Smaller sized ladies almost universally hated it as it adds tens of pounds to their figures.
I don't know which one you have ... but the one I have here from last year is rectangular.
The usual construction is a large rectangle that's folded in half lengthwise and each end then sewn halfway ... leaving an opening at the top end for armholes.
It's a standard pattern that's been around forever. There are variations where ribbed cuffs are added, and a ribbed edging added. I've made several with cuffs and edging.
The circular cocoon types are a different construction.

I wasn't sure if I wanted this or not but I ordered it to give it a try.
I wish I had ordered more than one. I put it on the back of my chair by the front door and had on my pajamas this morning when the doorbell rang. I threw this on to use as a housecoat and it was perfect for that. Tonight my house is chilly so I grabbed it to put on after my shower with my pj's and it is so comfy and soft and I love the sleeves not being long so I can type at the computer and knit with it on. I really would wear this out of the house with no problem with a pair of jeans and a t shirt. I would like to have one to keep in the car with the weather getting chilly.
I am very happy with the soft knit and the fit and how nice this is. For the price I will get a lot of use out of it. It is very cute on. I bought it in the navy blue and I think I will order one in the green if it is still available. I know they sold a lot of them and for a reason. It is a good item. Cute.

I ordered 2 (wine & teal) for gifts. You gals now have me spooked.
I don't want to give someone I love a gift that makes her backside look bigger. I didn't notice it during the presentation. I guess I will keep them and read the reviews. This TSV has a Christmas return policy, or I think it does. I will call CS to verify this.

Hi Raider. I didn't notice that it made any of the models look bigger. I liked it. I ordered the 2 off of ebay as the price was right. I usually abhor open-front items, but this looked soft and cozy. I thought everyone looked good in it. I think it would be a great gift. It would be super nice and comfy for travel too. I think they will love them.

Raider, I stated earlier I have last year's version and love it. I'm only 5'4" tall and I'm not a little woman. I have some serious junk in my trunk. I am very self conscious about that and absolutely will not wear anything that pulls across or cups my butt. I will not wear so many sweater jackets/coats because they are too fitted across my rear.
I love this wrap. It does none of that to me. I generally don't wear it as part of my outfit, meaning I don't wear it all day with something but I have a few times and in those instances I belted it and it was super cute. Usually I throw it on to run errands and I've worn it at work because sometimes I freeze.
