I use jumbo ziplock baggies for wool sweaters - they're 2.5 gallons. Instead of moth balls or cedar I use those little silica packs that come in shoes and other products. I read about using them in Parade Magazine years ago - they really work and there's no odor.

I am going to try LocknLock K50144

I used to hear that wool needs to 'breathe', and not be placed in plastic.
Maybe write/email the sweater people in Ireland for suggestions.
Also, moth balls chemicals aren't ideal to breathe into our lungs while wearing sweaters that have been stored with moth balls.
Google search the danger of moth ball chemicals.

I bought some beathable bags on Amazon that are made for wool/cashmere sweaers. They were advertised as moth prof. I also spray the wood inside the cabinets with a cedar oil. Have never had a problem with moths. The most important this is to make sure that the items are clean b4 storing!

@ROMARY I've heard LEATHER needs to breathe and should not be stored in plastic, not wool. After storing in moth balls I hang the garments outside for at least a day. The odor and chemicals dissipate.

All my wool tends to be out mostly. The climate here does not get too hot.
Can see two Pendleton throws and a cashmere shawl from here and any time now I will make the bed with two wool blankets.
Do be sure it is clean before storing. Silverfish get to it too.

After losing a gorgeous Irish cardigan due to moths, I now put my woolens and cashmeres in a large ziploc bag and throw in some bay leaves. Can't remember where I read that they work. I've also heard that lavendar flowers and sachets work but I haven't tried that.
Oddly enough, my mother in law in Arizona has no problem with moths. She doesn't have to protect any of her beautiful clothes.

I bought big zippered sweater storage bags from Amazon for hubby and for myself. I hang moth repellant sachets in all our closets so I don't use moth balls.
