It was Joan River's fabulous comedic style and the incredible way Kathy Levine had of hooking an audience and the chemistry that developed between the two women that really put the stamp of classic QVC on the Joan Rivers brand. From the beginning, David was Joan's chief designer and chief of operations (that may not be the exact title he had), but he was always a big chief in every phase of Joan's QVC business.
Angel does a nice job with Quacker Factory and there still seems to be a sizeable audience of customers for the brand.
I won't say I buy a lot from either brand, but I have purchased from both. I always see things I like when I watch a JR or Quaker show and apparently, QVC still sees bottom line value in holding onto both brands.

Many fashion designers have lost control of their name during their lifetime, with their fashion lines continuing without them, including Halston, Rebecca Taylor, Donna Karan, Kate Spade, Betsey Johnson, Calvin Klein, Thierry Mugler, Hervé Léger, QVC's Carole Hochman. Makeup creator Bobbi Brown left her eponymous company to found another beauty company Jones Road.

I think as long as there is demand, they should stay. I do wonder, howerever, about the Joan Rivers Brand. There is a significant difference since Joan is gone and the Q does not have JR shows as often. The Top brands that QVC gives a great deal of air time to are Graver, Issac, Basso and Kim Gravel.

It did bother me at one time, then I realized that the person may not have had anything to do with the designs at all except she agreed to put her name on the items. I think Jeanne Bice was a bit hands-on but, since all our likes change with time, would she still love all the bling and the designs they're coming up with now? I don't buy because of the name, always thought if I was wearing something with someone's name on it, they should be paying me
The Jimmy Dean commercials do creep me out since they use someone that's supposed to be him talking. Same with The Colonel. I think when someone passes or sells their line, they should be named "Cracker Factory II" or "Cracker Factory Reimaged", like the "new" Philosophy products should be advertised as "made in the style of the original"...like that would ever happen!

My style is more with JR, but it is fun to watch QF presentations.
Ditto. What's bothering me of late is the direction QF appears to be going with apparent disregard for their original customer base.
The bling and bedazzle has been toned down considerable which may make the line more appealing to a broader audience but I know I wouldn't be thrilled if a line I was loyal to changed their aesthetic...
