Hello all, it's another beautiful day here in my neck of the woods. Cooler temps for sure and not much humidity.
JCP had this sale going, 65% off of any orders over $100. They go crazy with the sales combinations for sure. Finding tall pants can be a royal pita, so I ordered 3 pair of pants and a navy belt. There was free shipping on any sized order.
Total cost, just under $67.
Wouldn't you know, I forgot about ebates, rofl.

Bernie--Thank you for starting the thread. You made a good haul at JCP. I thought of you yesterday when I saw the eBates promotional email regarding it. Sorry you forgot about eBates.
I guess the talk is all about Amazon's Prime member offer to ship clothing for you to try on and then you pay only for those you keep. That would work for me as I already do Amazon big time. In addition, you would know that the size was available without having to drive over an hour but then finding your size was in limited selections, etc. My favorite shopping experience was seeing a great two-piece outfit at JCP in my size. When I took it back to the fitting room, I discovered the top and the bottom were of different sizes. It appears that someone made their own customized sized outfit by taking the best from two different outfits.
Today was trash day so I put out 4-30 gallon bags and a huge selection of boxes. At least I was nice enough to put boxes inside of boxes for easier pick up. Today, is a goof off day since I had done this work earlier in the week. I'm starting the second novel in a series of 3. The first book "The Atlantis Gene" had a 4.5 rating out of 5 and has been translated into 23 languages.
As much as I like the Property Brothers, I am not indulging in the TSV. I am restraining my buying right now.
Have a great day. I'm enjoying the cooler temperatures today but I know some of our friends out West are not having an easy time.

Good morning ladies -- I have been running every direction for 4 days now. Just things that needed to happen in that order. Glad to be finished with all of it.
The rest of the week, will concentrate on the house and my exercise life. With a bit of cooking, inbetween.
Yesterday we were in the low 90s, today the same deal. Then cooling off, can't complain too much.
I wondered about TSV from the Scott bros, but some complaints would be mine as well, so I think I'll skip it. I am on the search for additional warm day sheets, any suggestions. The ones that I have are a bit stiff and my DH doesn't like the scratchy feeling.
@Bird mama I haven't shopped at JCP for years. Our store is in a mall and I never drive out there. My issue would be finding short pants for petites, this town doesn't have a store that carries much in the way of petites. It is annoying indeed.
Sounds like your haul was quite fruitful, good for you.
@KonaKat That shipping deal of paying what you keep, sounds intriguing for sure. That would definitely be a 'blue light special' for me. I do not return things if at all possible. Sometimes I just put it in the charity bag.
Sounds like your purging has been successful. That is a good feeling.
@meallen616 Cute pics. Already summer, I fear the snow will be flying before we know it.
Have a great day all. My CCs got a workout yesterday, so they are secured tightly with ducktape - yikes!!

Good Morning/Afternoon, and thanks for getting us started, Bernie. Glad your weather is nice and you were able to find those good bargains at JCP. Too bad you forgot about the ebates. Oh well......
Hi Jean -- good job on your cleaning up/trashing, and shopping resistance. I like the "Property Brothers" as well, but the TSV is not calling my name. Thank goodness.
Cute graphics, meallen. You certainly have lots of appropriate ones to share.
The lady who was taken out of the senior lunch program on a stretcher last Tuesday passed away last Sunday. Apparently, she had heart issues, but died of pneumonia. I was sad and surprised at her passing. There will be a little remembrance at the senior lunch program next Tuesday.
Youngest DGS and DGD started their chemistry class yesterday, and so far so good. And, DGS had an interview for a work study job in the Fall after class, and he starts there in August. Meanwhile, he is working at the Army surplus store. DGD has been told that she has an excellent chance at a work study job as well (different area of the college.) Both kids are very happy. Oldest DGS had one-day training yesterday (for his new job at Macy's) and it took 2 1/2 hours one way and 3 hours plus on the way back since there was heavy traffic and three detours. Needless to say, he is happy training was only one day.
I had my strong bones class this morning. I went for my walk earlier than normal, but it was very hot so I ended up marching in place to make my usual hour. Yikes!
I'll be visiting DH soon, and I will probably go to the store for a few things later. Maybe I will try the computer security program later as well.
Hope everyone has a good day!
Hugs,
Linda
P.S. Thanks for your kind words, Charlene. I'm lucky that DH's children and I get along well. Glad you are enjoying your time in the Northwest, Kathleen. Quite a change from Texas.
ETA -- you have certainly been busy 3suwm5. Wise to lock up those CC for a while.

Hi everyone - taking a breather for a bit. Bernie - thanks for getting us started today. It sounds like you got some good shopping deals. I need to get into using ebates! Jean - no TSV for me either, but I succumbed to purchasing the Carolyn Pollack necklace that was a lunchtime special. mealllen - summer just started? Yikes, feels like it's been here for a month at least, lol. Oh, and I love giraffes! 3Suwm5 - If only I worked out as hard as my CC's did. Well, at least I get my CC paid off in full each month. That's good. Kathleen - just wanted to mention that weird message you were sent that you posted on Facebook. I mentioned the cloths/clothes thing because when posters think that they're know-it-alls but can't get their spelling or grammar correct, it makes me take them even less seriously. Sometimes we just need to laugh and shrug our shoulders. P.S. - the best thing that we can ever wear is a SMILE and you've got that in spades. Also - I did really enjoy having my DD's friends come and stay the night. My DD was truly blessed by having such nice girls be her roommates while she was in vet school.
My DD's second day of being a vet was a little rougher than the first. She euthanized a couple of pets, and also had to tell 2 different crying clients that their pets have cancer. Lots of emotional ups-and-downs in the field she chose, but I think she handles it well.
I just got done weeding in the last section of the succulent/cacti garden this morning. I was in the cacti area so I put on the heavy-duty cow-hide gloves and was careful. Only got poked a couple of times. It's so hot out there it's like sitting in an oven. But things are looking pretty good.
I'm about to tackle more indoor cleaning chores now. Honestly, I'm kind-of embarrassed by how many nooks and crannies I have ignored in this house, and now I'm paying the price by having to clean them all at once. And by nooks and crannies I'm also including things like..."when did my kitchen cabinets get this coating of grease and dust on them?" and..."Oh my gosh, how long has it been since I've cleaned off the top of the refrigerator?" Yikes!!!
Hoping you all have a great day ~ Charlene

Linda - I think we were posting at the same time. So sorry to hear about the woman from the lunch program passing away. It sounds like your DGC have many good things going on in their lives right now. Glad to know that things are so positive for them!
