Shopaholics One Day at a Time - Sept. 20th, Thursday

Good Morning

It's raining steadily in my part of the country and we can use it.

Amazon is finally sending my furnace filter - it only took them a week.  I'd swear they drag their feet in an effort to encourage me to enroll in Prime  Woman Wink

Other than that, I received the 4 tops I ordered from JCP and they are freshly laundered and hanging in the closet.

Not too much else going on.  I am on the lookout for one of my yard squirrels that I believe took a serious tumble out of one of the trees yesterday.  I saw it laying at the base of the pine and I fed it some unsalted peanuts.  It was hobbling pretty bad and I did follow it two house down (with leather gloves on and a towel in hand) and then decided not to stress the little thing out.  I worry about predators since I don't think the squirrel will be climbing a tree any time soon.

I saw it again in my yard at 5pm yesterday.  Fed it some more and it ate and hobbled under the fence into my neighbor's yard.

No sighting this morning.  Sigh.

There are times when you must speak, not because you are going to change the opposing side, but because if you do not speak, they have changed you.

Good Morning and thanks for getting us started, Bernie.  That is a cute picture.  Hope the yard squirrel is okay.  You are so kind to wildlife.  Glad you are happy with the JCP tops, and hope the furnace filters arrive soon.  I think you may be correct about why Amazon is taking so long to deliver them.

We had quite a bit of needed rain yesterday, and it was much cooler yesterday night.  While we needed the rain, it did cause some issues.  One of my neighbor's saguaro cactus (very large one) fell down.  I hate to see them go, but heavy rain can knock them down.  I was trying to post a picture here, but it was just way too large.

My car insurance company gives a discount if you take a defensive driving class on-line, and I started that last night.  I took it a few years ago, and it was quite interesting.  And, I am back to studying Italian on Babbel.  I am considering taking a trip to Italy in the future, and I have started looking at trips -- not cheap to say the least.  This is particularly true since I need to pay a "single supplement" plus go to another airport to catch the plane.  That will no doubt lead to spending the night before and after the trip.  Still it is a trip I really want to take.

I plan to go to the gym this morning, and I have a caregivers meeting this afternoon.  I really need to go through some papers, etc., but not sure that will happen today.

Waves to all of our posters and readers.  Have a nice day!

Hugs,

Linda

Bird Mama, we had rain during the night and now it's supposed to be in the upper 80's & humid.  It is supposed to be sunny this afternoon which is debatable at this time.  They are saying upper 60's all weekend, so that is great news.  Too bad about your yard squirrel.  It sounds like your JCP tops are a success.

Our local TV stations are still doing a live report about yesterday's shootings.  Sad & scary for many people involved.

I did 2 loads of laundry this morning and then I put out our fall decorations.  It looks nice & it makes me happy.  Inside only.

We are having some friends drop in after lunch.  Cards if my DH is up to it.  He got up earlier than expected & is tired.

Hugs to all of you.

Linda L, we were posting at the same time.  Too bad about your neighbors cactus falling over because of the rain.  Good luck with learning another language.  Your upcoming trip sounds like it will be a nice one.

I have to go out and  pick a lot of 🍅🍅🍅.  Then I am going to fix us a grilled chicken salad for lunch to use a few of them.  They have been good & there has been an abundance of them.  My friend wants some of them so that she can make some more salsa.
