Re: Shopaholics - ODAT - Sunday

Rock Chick, We live in S. WI. I left work 12 years ago after being diagnosed with a very serious case of CIDP. My DH retired from Frito Lay almost 12 years go after being with them over 32 years. He was hard on his work clothes, but the company provided them. I never wear shoes out. That is the only thing DH does wear out as he walks everyday--weather permitting. We do lots of traveling when I am up to it. I need to get my "batteries" charged every 6-8 weeks, so that is our priority right now and probably forever. Right now I would love to go anywhere warm. I wondered if you got your hike in yesterday.

Re: Shopaholics - ODAT - Sunday

I grew up in Iowa, and we loved our trips through WI. All the extended family was in upstate NY so we got to see a lot of countryside as we made the trip 2x a year, at least. I remember having lots of fun on our snowmobiles this time of year.

I had a really wonderful time with my friend yesterday. She took me to a restaurant, a Japanese "Zen" and it was some of the most delicous food I've ever had. I stopped by an Austin famous in the area ice cream place (Amy's) and got an ice cream on the way home. It was good.

Now I'm trying to get my steps in inside the house, doing laundry, need to still lay out clothes for the week. DH is cold laying in bed. I wish he would turn the heat up but no. Whatever. lol

I also love the commercials. The puppy one is very cute! Years ago the Clydesdales were at an event. What magnificent animals. Went to church this morning. Not well attended. Our ladies group had a casserole sale. We did very well in our efforts. Fred was with me and he was shivering when he headed for home. Was happy to get home and put on my pjs. I am in for the day. Have a medical apt in the city tomorrow. Dogs are taking turns on my lap. Mr Boodles is up. I guess I need to let Him out. Soup is in the crockpot

Rock chic, it is funny that you say you grew up in IA. My DH's brother, SIL & family live in SE IA. Back in 1991, my DH & I flew our DS to Dallas, TX to visit a chiropractic college in Irving, TX. My aunt lived there at the time so we had lodging for a week. DS decided that after graduating from the UW of WI he would get his Doctorate at PCC in Davenport. After graduation he left the Midwest for Boston. He loves it there and met the love of his life out there. They were married almost 8 years ago in St. Thomas. 6 years ago, he decided to pursue his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Now he does both professions and is loving it.We do go to the NE once a year. We went last Sept. and had a wonderful time. Our first time there in the fall. Good luck with your indoor walking.
