Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY)

Hi Ladies!!! I'm another who is tired of the cold...I normally enjoy winter, but this year it is wearing me down. Thanks to all for the prayers...DS is home and doing well.

Jean - congrats on the weightloss...glad it looks like you'll get out and about later in the week. Staying home too long, certainly makes me stir crazy.

Sonya - sorry about your back, but glad your cold is better. Enjoy open mic...sounds like a fun time. Always wished I could sing, but was not blessed in that department.

Twinny - belated Happy Birthday...my oldest 2 are twins, as is my Mom, and brother. All fraternal, and it does not skip any generations for us. Wow, is it cold in your area.

Arlene - those tax prep prices are insane...we are CPAs, and don't charge near that amount for a return like that.

Must get back to work...wish I could respond to everyone...will try to get back here later!!!

Kathleen--The chicken fried steak sounds good. We call it "country fried steak." You've been packing a lot of things into your day, so skipping boot camp at times to give you time to do other things you have short changed is fine. You go most of the days, so it isn't as if you are neglecting it. It is stressful knowing that your brother is headed for Afghanistan.

Karen--Good to see you posting. Also, it is great that DS is at home; there is nothing like home for recovery and mom's TLC. You have a super busy season ahead as a CPA with tax preparation added to the usual responsibilities.

It is so good to see sunshine; it makes it difficult to believe that it is still so cold outside. The sunshine really helps! Right now, I'm watching The Property Brothers on HGTV. I haven't done much around the house today.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY)

Hi girls! Well, the streets are still covered in snow, but I just called the tax office and they're staying open, so I guess I'll be getting ready to leave in a little bit. There have been dozens of accidents, and from what I've heard people have to wait 5+ hours for a wrecker to get to them.

Linda, cable bills have gotten so high, and it seems that the more channels there are, the less there is worth watching, so I got rid of it - can't say I miss it. My internet is almost $70 a month, but I need reliable internet because of school, so there's not much I can do about that - it's either the one I have with the local power company, or Comcast, and Comcast stinks.

Oh, I have so many dressy tops, and rarely have anyplace to wear them to apart from church. I do miss my old Wall St. days when I'd have to get dressed for work; casual is fine, but I do like an excuse to get dressed up.

Well, I have to call for service on that POS stove - I will never, never, NEVER buy something made by LG (Lousy Garbage/Lotta Grief) again! {#emotions_dlg.mad}

Guess I'd better get moving - I need to allow extra time for the roads that are iced over.

Have a blessed day, everyone!

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY)

Kona, great weight loss. This cold weather seems like the new normal. It was about minus 25 chill factor today and still very windy. Hope are bck to school soon. Kids went back in our town today. Good job on our gas (car) bill. I am still purging my sewing room/computer room today. I'm working on craft books/sewing books etc. It goes to St. Vincent's tomorrow when I finally get to leave the house. YEAH!!!

fbm21sm, another cold one for you too. Those dinner dates are fun. My DH & friends sometimes go to them. It is fun to dress up sometimes, just for fun. I am amazed at how some people comes in jeans too. I am not familiar with Tamarack. Have fun there too.

Karen, glad your son is home. I am quite new to these boards, so don't know the circumstances. Prayers are ther if you need them.

Ksmitty28, Thanks for birthday wishes. Not as many twins in my family. My grandma had twin sisters and that is about all. None on my mom's side of the family, but she is an only child.

PaLady, Good luck with clothes shopping. it is always fun to buy something new. Right now I don't need anything and it is too cold to do much shopping around here. Good on the budget though I guess.

Livehealthy, 40's & 50's are a dream right now for us. I usually like winter, but it has been extra brutal this year. Open mic night sounds like fun. I can't sing worth beans but admire those that can!

LindaLatte, those cable companies drive me nuts too. Hope DH feels better soon.

Rockchick, sounds like you work at a good place when it comes to lunchtime.

Hello to Arlene, Kathleen, Marijane, Linda R. Nancy, Karen, kathy, Gayle and anybody that I might have missed.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY)

Twinny, the ironic thing is that I live in the mountains in Colorado, but our highs will be in the twenties later this week as the snow hits. Colorado Springs never hit the 50s today, due to cloud cover, but it was nice and sunny up here.

It would be a blast if all you ladies could come to open mic. Can you even imagine? lol

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WEDNESDAY)

livehealthy, do you live in a log home? We almost built one in our hometown 19 years ago, but decided against it as our lot would make the home very high even though it is ranch style and we thought the maintenance on it would be too difficult for us to handle. My DH & I along with my BF from HS & her DH went to SD, WY & Co last June for 11 days. Had great weather and wished we would have had about 3 extra days to see all we wanted to see. The last time any of us had been to CO was over 20 years ago. DH & I took our DS & DD to CO etc. back in the 80's. By the way we live in WI so it was a very enjoyable trip for all of us.

I am quite new to these boards so I am not sure what open mic is. Is it karaoke (sp)? Yes it would be fun to be able to all get together.

We are supposed to get 2" of snow tomorrow and a couple of inches again Saturday. That will make 26 snow falls so far--they predicted we would get 19.

I did some decluttering today and I am impressed with how much fun it is to get rid of things I don't need anymore. Some will go in the garbage and some to St. Vincent's where they are looking for nice things. I hope to finish this room up tomorrow.
