SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (TUESDAY, FEB.21)

Hi Everyone!

Our weather can't make up it's mind what it wants to do today. It's been cool and cloudy with some rain and a bit of sun. My "knee forecast" is forecasitng a storm on the way. I have my fingers crossed that it happens during the day and not at night.

I have more flowers popping up in the front porch garden and a few in side front gardens. I sure hope they survive the weather flipping back and forth.  I still haven't an answer with how to downside those gardens. I may wait and see what actually returns and work around those plants. I searched for fence panels and didn't see too many choices or budget prices. I'll probably paint the ones I have.

I've watched some of the Q but mostlly the garden and home shows. Prices are a good reminder to stick to the budget. We just purchased batteries yesterday and I was "sticker shocked" again. We even had a coupon. I only have batteries in the candles in the hallway and near the steps for night time. I tackled the window candles during the hollidays so they should be good until Fall.

Have a good afternoon/evening.

Hi @Fressa   not too much going on with me.  I'm waiting to see what kind of mess is going to blow across Michigan tomorrow and Thursday.  Looks like a mixture of snow, rain and freezing rain.  Good times Woman Wink

Good Evening and thanks for getting us started, Fressa.  Hope the storms aren't too bad in your area.  Most of today it has been cloudy and cool, but none of the predicted thunderstorms so far.  There is a high wind advisory starting this evening and all day tomorrow.  I have taken in a lawn chair and table just in case.

Hi Bernie.  Hope your weather will be okay.

Nothing exciting going on here.  The senior lunch program went well, and so did did the gym.

Sleep well everyone.

Hugs,

Linda

Birdmama---It looks like we're having the same weather today that you had yesterday. If I had any rubber ducks I could float them outside in the patio yard. LOL What a mess!!!

LindaLatte--Godd to hear the senior lunch program went well. It's nice when things run without any "snags".

I spent yesterday afternoon shredding old files and receipts from previous years. I know I keep entirely too much paperwork so I'm trying to be better about it. I also want more room in the file cabinets and hopefully elilminate the need for one of the two in that space. Today I'm sorting thru all those booklets from the health insurance, etc. companies. I sure can have some fun around here but it will be nice to have some space  on top of that cabinet.

Hi All,

We had some snow "pellets" late this morning, and it's supposed to turn to a winter/rain mixture later. Overnight we're supposed to get rain, & tomorrow the temp will be mid 60's. Roller coaster weather.

I'm on auto-delivery with Amazon for a case of dog food every 4 weeks. I'm a Prime Member. Prime has always delivered it to my front door. But not today. The case of dog food was sent via USPS this time. My mailbox (along with 179 other mailboxes) is at the beginning of our new development, 2 blocks away. It was crammed at an angle into one of the parcel boxes, & I had to walk 2 blocks back home carrying a case of canned dog food. So, I'm ranting LOL.

I'm calling Amazon's CS to let them know that if they send it USPS again, I need to cancel auto-delivery.

Looks like part of the country is in for a lot of snow.

Fressa, that's cute about having a few rubber duckies.  When our dgc were young, we had a rubber duckie for each of them and a water pistol for the hot tub.  Great memories for all of us.

Bird Mama, we are in the midst of a freezing rain/sleet and snow until noon on Thursday. Hopefully we don't lose the power.  Right now the house is toasty warm.

Linda L, I think you have the best weather of all.

I am feeling so much better.  No knee pain since Monday so I called my nurse to see if I could go to the gym and get into the hot tub.  YES.  Like Bird Mama and Linda L. said, moderation is important.   The nurse said it's important to keep my body in motion.

I had an eye appt this morning, but the Optometrist called me at Noon and said not to come in, so I go next Wednesday.

I have labs and my 6 month Dr appt first thing tomorrow so I am  planning to make it there and back safely as it's in town.

It's going to be a boring day.  Schools and our  senior center are all closed and I don't they will be open tomorrow.

I could clean the house, but that's not on my to do list.  Susan, I think I caught it from you🤗🤗🤔🤔.

I am so glad that our eldest dgs has not moved to MN yet.

Hugs to all of you.

@DesertLily,  here in S. WI, we are in the midst of weather like you are getting, but I don't think we will get any snow.  That's ridiculous having to carry a case of dog food two blocks.  We have been in the 40's which is unusual for our area this time of the year.  I like snow, but not a foot or two at a time.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS ONE DAY AT A TIME (TUESDAY, FEB.21)

DeseretLily---I feel your pain with the dog food delivery. My mailbox is at the curb of the street at the top of our steep driveway. I've had them leave the boxes of dog food, treats, etc. in the street next to the post. Sometimes they leave it at the side door which is a longer walk than the front door which is marked with (2) address signs. I have 2 GSD's dogs so none of the packages are light weight. If the regular guy is on then it is left at the front door. My husband's previous apt. complex had a mailbox system similar to your's. It was always a mess with packages for him even though it was noted to leave it at the neighbor's door. Hopefully, they will fix the problem for you.

twinny70---Glad you are feeling better/ What a difference it makes in "what to do today". Good luck with your labs and check up. I still have to schedule those but I'm tryng to be in a bit better shape before I schedule an appointment.
