SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SUNDAY, APRIL 2)

Good morning, shopping friends. We have sun today!! It has been so long that it was almost a shock to see sunshine instead of dreary, dark overcast skies and rain.

I debated going to the city today to get groceries but decided to use this as another day of rest. It is the first day without a temperature but I still feel a little weak and tired.  I decided it was better to play it safe. The doc told me not to go back to work until 2 weeks had passed. Since I work Thursday and Friday, I am safe but if work materializes before then I might be tempted.

The last expensive thing I ordered from the Q was the new Fitbit Alta HR. It was the same price on Amazon but I opted to get it from the Q because of the 6 easy pays. I wanted the HR version because I wanted a record of my heart rate 24/7. It is working out great and also includes the sleep monitoring with sleep stages. Sleep monitoring is accurate if done with brain wave measurement which is not what the FitBit does but the heart rate function is very  accurate. I will be taking the results with me when I have my cardiologist appointment.

I also have 2 QF skorts and some D&C tops on their way to me. Time will tell how well the skorts will work. I wanted something different and since I've never had skorts, I went that route. Since I returned the air fryer, I decided clothes would be a good substitute.

Have a great day. If you shop, shop wisely.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SUNDAY, APRIL 2)

Good Morning/Afternoon, and thanks for getting us started, Jean.  Glad you are feeling better, and have work lined up for later in the week.  It is sunny here today.  I was quite surprised that it rained when I was going to visit DH the second time yesterday.  As far as I know, rain was not predicted.  It was not heavy rain or anything, but a surprise.

I did not know you returned the air fryer.  Why did you decide that it would not work for you?  Just curious.  I have to admit that I was tempted by that TSV, but resisted since I didn't think I would use it that much.

Hope you like the new clothes you ordered.  I have not worn skorts for many years.  It is strange, but i find shorter shorts work better for me than longer ones.  Not that I wear shorts much (except for around the house in the summer), but having something not too far above my knee seems to emphasize my ugly veins, etc.

Glad you like your Fitbit, and it is doing a good job in monitoring your heart rate.  I really like my Fitbit very much, and I find it very motivating for exercising.  I particularly like the idea of getting 250 steps every hour, when possible.

I received an e-mail from DH's daughter who is vacationing in Mexico with her family.  They didn't arrive at their destination until 1:00 a.m., and it was very hard on her 10-year old daughter.  Fortunately, their first day there was nice and relaxing.

This afternoon I will be attending a party for the volunteers at the senior lunch program, etc., so I'll only be visiting DH once today.  Hopefully, he will be okay as he was yesterday.

Have a nice day everyone!

Hugs,

Linda

P.S. Like your new boots, Bernie.

meallen--Thank you for the autistim awareness graphic.  I have worked with some autistic children so it is a challenge.

Linda--I had convinced myself that I likely would not use the airfryer and tried to cancel but it shipped unusually fast. No one that I talked to who bought one ended up using it much after the initial use. Those that did just did fries and the rest said it took up valuable counter space so they put theirs in storage until it was needed.  Enjoy your volunteer party as well as your visit with DH.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SUNDAY, APRIL 2)

Hello all, I went to my event last night which meant that I didn't get to bed until 2:30 am.  I love my birds and reminded myself of that fact when they got me up at 7 am.  Once they get going, there is absolutely no ignoring them.  Besides that, I don't like to disrupt their schedule.  I'll be going to bed early tonight :-)

There are times when you must speak, not because you are going to change the opposing side, but because if you do not speak, they have changed you.
