Hi Everyone!
I thought I should start a new listing for the week. I still can't believe we are in the month of November. The weather is all over the place this week with cold temps at night, cool enough for a jacket during the day, some sun, some rain. The dogs and I need it to pick one or the other. LOL
The hubby did a fast run to the market this afternoon. I needed a few items for his coffee and snacks and ground beef was on sale. He got the last package. Butter was $4.50 per pound. I was down to my last quarter. Too close. Hopefully, I'll make it back this week for all the other items. Too many errands and not enough days.
I received a notice from our provider that the two breathing medications will no longer be covered under our plan. Not sure what I'm to do about that issue. It just makes my head hurt. It takes so long to find something that works without causing some side effect with the other medication. Good thing we didn't buy up one level with this news.
Chewy informed me that I now need a prescription for both dogs heartguard medication. I don't remember this from last year but I'm having a bad week. I called the vets office and we can pick those up tomorrow. Now there is a rebate but they only sent the form for one dog. I don't even want to bore you with that conversation and the incorrect information for just one dog and nothing for the other. It's a different world than when I was in business. It just gives me a migraine.
I did watch some ofthe food show this am with MaryBeth and Mary. The hubby wanted those apples so I ordered the set of 5. It's a big deal for hi to request fruit and granny smith is his favorite apple.
What's everyone doing today? I watched a bit of the weather channel last night and they showed footage of a "dirt" hurricane. Interesting and not near as damaging as the regular type.
Have a good evening.

Good Evening and thanks for getting us started, Fressa. Sorry about your insurance/medications and problems with the vet. Unfortunately, I think good customer service is very difficult to find these days.
Our weather has been up and down as well. Yesterday, it made it to 90 degrees, today it was 80, degrees, and tomorrow it is supposed to reach 73 degrees. So, I guess our higher than normal temperatures are over, but I thought that a couple of weeks ago only to have the heat return.
I had an OLLI class this morning (Irish history), and then went to help staff a booth for hospice at the volunteer fair. Very few people looking for volunteer opportunities, which is a shame. I think most of the organizations are having difficulty finding volunteers these days. It started before COVID, but is worse now.
After that, I purchased gasoline, and the price was lower than it has been in ages -- $3.47 a gallon. I only went to one grocery store and then Walmart. Not too much on sale, but a few bargains.
Hope you and your DH enjoy the apples. I have never tried them, but they look delicious.
After the grocery shopping, I had my hair cut.
Amazon delivered the microwave this morning, and I just happened to be looking out the window. The driver very nicely carried the package into the house. No way that I was going to try to lift it and potentially hurt my back. Now I am waiting to hear back from the handyman about when he can install it. Fingers crossed it will be soon.
Waves to Fressa, Bernie, Glenda, Barbara, Susan, and all of our posters and readers.
Hope everyone sleeps well.
Hugs,
Linda

Fressa, our, weather was perfect for several days, but it's been rain off and on most of the day. That's crazy about a rx for one dog, but not the other one. I needed butter and got it for $2.99 per # at our Qwik Trip. I am keeping the same rx plan for next year as it is a good plan despite me being on two expensive drugs. I hope that the apples are to your liking.
Linda L, how nice to get the microwave carried into your kitchen. Yesterday my dh got gas in the next town away from us and it was $3.14. It's $3.25 in our hometown. You are so good at your volunteer job. I am sure that your OLLI class was interesting.
Bird Mama, my surgeon just wrote a book called "Life in the Pits". A Surgeon's Awakening. He was born in England, went to medical school in Montreal & did his residency at the Detroit Medical Center. I bought his book and he signed it while I waited for over two hours to see if my port could be saved.
I had a rough time on Monday at my infusion clinic. Long story short, it took 3 highly skilled nurses to get the needle in my port without success getting a blood draw so I had to get a needle in my arm. 😑😑😑.
I called the surgeon on Tuesday whom put it in 13 years ago and was lucky that he had a cancellation and was able to see me Tuesday afternoon. He tried everything imaginable and couldn't get the port to cooperate so I am praying that it goes well for me when I get a new port put in on 12/20.
I was very sore on Monday and Tuesday, but feel a lot better today. We were able to go to our senior center this afternoon and hear a guy talk about the Great Pyramids of Giza. Very interesting.
I have a lunch date with a few of my former co workers tomorrow. Then we are going to see a movie at our senior center.
My niece and her dd are coming up from S. IL on Friday night and we are going to a baby shower on Saturday. They have to go back home after the shower as her ds is getting his graduation pics taken on Sunday.
Hugs to all of you.

Sorry to hear about your port and the pain you have had, Glenda. I will pray that things go well on 12/20.
Glad you are feeling better and hope you have fun with your former coworkers.

Linda L, thanks or your prayers, but I made a mistake. My surgery is on 11/20.

Probably better to get the surgery done before Christmas, Glenda. Thanks for the update.
My big news is that my handyman came this morning and my new microwave is installed. I asked, and he said he would take the old one to the dump, for a fee of course. Not an inexpensive replacement when you add up the microwave, warranty, and his service, but I am happy to have it. I was able to walk Gigi this morning, and she was her usual sweet self.
Just back from an OLLI class -- sailing on a clipper ship to Greece (and a little Turkey) this week. It was interesting, but the "study group leader" was not well-prepared as far as showing slides and videos. Next week, it will be about Egypt.
Waves to Glenda, Fressa, Bernie, Susan, Barbara, and all of our posters and readers.
I saw on FB that Jean took a short trip to Indiana to visit a friend yesterday. She looked happy.
Have a nice evening everyone.
Hugs,
Linda

LindaLatte--Irish history sounds interesting. I always liked history of the places that I are rich in traditions, etc.
Our weather is slowly converting over to more cool and warm hours during the day. I can't wait until it's cool all the time.
I don't think our gas prices will drop at any point. I think our $3.89/gallon is the revised "normal. UGH!!! We're now trying to drive both cars equally and fill them up at the same time so there's one total in the budget. We'll see how this works. Crossing my fingers.

twinny70--Hope you are feeling better. I will keep you in my prayers that your new port goes we;;.
Enjoy your company over the weekend.

LindaLatte--Congrats on your microwave install. Isn't it nice to finally have your kitchen back in order? II think it's just awkward when the kitchen isn't in tact. Disposal of the old appliance (regardless of the size) is a challenge these days. Glad your handman was able to take care of theat chore for you.(even if there was a fee...ugh)
I'm glad Gigi enjoyed her walk.

Hello all, I received a call from BCBSM in response to my open enrollment question. For many years they sent paperwork and kicked off open enrollment right before Thanksgiving. After a few years of kicking off open enrollment early they are going back to right before Thanksgiving - I should receive something in the mail any day now (whew).
I did the grocery shopping yesterday - joyful, joyful ![]()
Fressa @Fressa I'm sorry they are jerking you around on the RXs for the heartguard. We've been posting with each other long enough for me to say that I think Chewy started needing a RX from you for this last year.
Glenda @twinny70 You will be in my prayers on 11/20 - I've marked it on the calendar on the wall by my desk which is where I sit when I am on the laptop.
Linda @LindaLatte I'm so glad the microwave is installed. I concur that it was a very good idea you didn't try to lift it yourself.
I took my dryer apart this morning and cleaned out the inside of the cabinet and replaced the drum belt. I bought an OEM belt for my dryer when I bought an OEM for my sister's dryer. My dryer started squealing the other day and when I compared the belt that a tech installed several years ago with the OEM belt that I bought it looked like the old bet was not the right size for my dryer. Jesus, sometimes you just gotta figure things out yourself. Anyway - I no longer have fear about removing and installing a drum in a dryer. Took me 2 hours because I worked slowly and patiently. Repair cost $20. ![]()
