Good Afternoon! Hope everyone who celebrates had a wonderful Easter. Mine was very quiet, but fine. The gym was almost empty when I went yesterday afternoon.
The weather swings continue here as in much of the country. They are predicting a high of 96 degrees here today. Fortunately, the house isn't nearly as warm as outdoors. It should be hot for at least the next few days, but Friday's high is predicted to be in the 70's.
I heard that my Saturday hospice patient went to the hospital Saturday night after my visit. No word on why or how she is today, but I hope to hear later.
This morning, I took a nice walk (while it was still cool), and I have been decluttering and putting away Easter decorations. This afternoon, I visit a different hospice patient and plan to do some cooking later.
Hope your DIL loves the beach pants, Fressa. I thought they were cute, but didn't order. I have a pair that were very useful when I had my varicose vein procedure -- wide legs were needed for the bandages.
Waves to Fressa, Bernie, Glenda, Susan, Desert Lily, and all of our posters and readers. Have a nice evening and please post if you have a chance.
Hugs,
Linda

Hi Linda @LindaLatte It's been sunny for a few days and temps are increasing. I expect upper 70's, possibly 80 this week. A cold front is coming and temps are gonna take a dive so I've been going out daily (not on Easter) and raking the humps of yard waste left over from tree removal. I'm getting there one day at a time. I can't believe I found more bricks along the fence line separating me and my neighbor to the south. Jeez - I think the chain link fence started heaving out of the ground many years ago and the lady who owned my house before me, laid bricks in a row to block growing gaps under the chain link. I guess I'll be digging those out next. Always something ![]()

LindaLatte--Our Easter was nice and quiet. I roasted a turkey. I had one left in the freezer. I always worry about the thawing time if it's been frozen for too many months.
It got too warm here so I finally decided to open the A/C vents to get some relief. Took all the covers off the patio furniture and a/c. It's way too early for this type of weather for us. (usually end of May is the normal) I could feel a big difference last night. The dogs were snoozing away early in the evening.
Hopefully your hospice patient will feel better soon.
Gary G. mentioned that the shorts today were not going to be reordered. That factory is out of business and that blend of fabric will not be on the next order next year. I'm guessing that the % of cotton in the clothing is being reduced and the prices wll continue to climb. All the more motivation to stick to the budget.
I've been decluttering those little boxes of hooks and misc. "stuff" and clippings of recipes that I've never tried. Working up the energy to tackle some of the larger projects. I really need to sort thru all the policy paperwork and discard some of the monthly info and just keep the yearly recaps. What fun...LOL
Have a good afternoon/evening.

Birdmama--When we first moved into our house we kept finding red bricks, chunks of marble and the bricks that matched the lower part of the house. Seems the builders just tossed the leftovers over the hillside as they were building the place. We gathered them up as we found them and kept them in the shed. We used them as needed and now our supply is down to 6 bricks. There was a farm fench on the woods side of the property and she also had cinder block laid in a row next to the fence line marking the "true" property line. The township line is a couple feet from the brick line. Interesting that there wasn't a line of any kind in the back or the other side of the house.

Good Evening! It really got hot here today -- at least 96 degrees. They are still saying it will only reach the 70's on Friday.
Sorry it is warmer than you would like, Fressa. Glad you are taking the steady and slow approach on the yard, Bernie. Interesting about the extra bricks. We had some here when we moved in, and had an addition made to our back patio with them.
The gastroenterologist appointment went pretty well. He is a really nice and funny doctor. But, he decided I need to have a colonoscopy. I really hate the prep for the procedure plus the facility where I will have it is at least 45 minutes drive from my house. I cannot drive myself, so my next project is to see if I can arrange a ride with a volunteer from a local organization. The appointment isn't until June, a week I get back from my trip to Michigan and Chicago.
I also need to research whether the four or five medical groups involved are "preferred providers" -- if so, I don't think I'll need to pay anything. But, I don't think the odds are good with so many.
The senior lunch program went well, and so did the gym. Many more people there today, but I was able to use all of "my" machines.
Waves to all of our posters and readers. Sleep well everyone.
Hugs,
Linda
ETA -- It seems my Saturday hospice patient is okay. She just got confused Saturday evening and went to the ER. They checked her out, and sent her back home.

LindaLatte---Good luck with coordinating transportation and the other services for your gastro/colon procedure. I find it frustrating with trying to check all the payment providers and transportation to and from part from the procedure itself.
Good that you were able to use all the machines that you like. It's always good to have a complete routine.
Good news that your hospice patient got home safely.
I couldn't take that heat you get. I'm trying not to put the a/c on during the day but it keeps getting warmer and warmer. I put the patio umbrellas out yesterday and opened them up today. We still have some wind gusts but not as bad as before . I'm hoping the patio fence blocks anything that might make them airborne. Fingers crossed.

It's 81 degrees and breezy outside as I type this. I've been busy raking, hauling and falling more in love with my wheelbarrow every day. I think the former owner of the house could see the fence posts were heaving after nearly 40 years and laid the row of bricks under the chain link between the fence posts to keep a dog out. I don't know who had the dog.
I usually whine about the heat however this weekend we will be looking at rain with a possible snow mix so I am trying hard to get as much stump waste up and bagged in the garage while the getting is good. I go out 2 to 3 times a day and rake the top dry layer into small piles and bag them. It's a slow process but I'm making progress.

Birdmama--- It sounds like you are making excellent progress. A layer at a time is the motto here. I'm guessing that all the bricks and other building material was a comgination of the owner not being around much while they were buildilng (she had a second home about the family business) and also marking the property line on the side where the township line is since it's a zigzag line instead of a straight line. I heard that some fence people recommend that you have a foot outside the fence line in case you need to fix the fence on the other side. That sure wouldn't work around here with the one neighbor who like to "move his line" and the other one who likes to throw her twigs, etc. over her fence.
