REFORMEd SHOPAHOLICs week of August 27

Good morning...I am watching the terrible flooding in Texas. Prayers for those people.

it is still cool and rainy here...we will be in the 70s all week which is fine with me. I am on a purge mission..like you Linda, I have way too many clothes...I am seriously considering getting rid of anything that is more than 2 years old. Note to self..no more clothes.

Linda..that would wise for dhs place to open a house for those with behavior problems. I do like the bd jacket but it is thicker than my others..I did not realize it until I did some comparison to my others. Hope Dh has a good day today.

Claudia..it is too bad that whit cuts people out. M has done that in the past but not lately.

Chessielady you are an awesome pet owner. Sydnie would love another minischnauzer but her mommy says no.

Linda, I hate the prep for my test but I have found going to only liquids for 72 hours really helps. Yuck.

have a good day.

Re: REFORMEd SHOPAHOLICs week of August 27

Good Afternoon/Evening!  That is so long to have only liquids, Barbara.  I had so much trouble with two days.  Hope you get through the prep okay.  I decided to donate/trash a few more clothes, and I'm trying on others to help me make the decision.  I would not want to get rid of my "old but good things", but some do need to go.  We are definitely not having your weather -- should reach 100 today, and it is already in the upper 90's.  It was nice on my walk.

What color(s) did you get of the Barefoot Dreams sweater?  I got the blue.  I didn't find it to be heavy/thick at all, so the others ones must be extremely light.  Hope that I do end up wearing mine.

Hope you are having a good day chessielady and Claudia.  Church and the gym were okay, and I'll be leaving to visit DH a little later.  Fingers crossed things will be okay there.

Sleep well everyone!

Hugs,

Linda

Re: REFORMEd SHOPAHOLICs week of August 27

Good luck with the liquids, Barbara. 3 days is a long time. Often I found 2 dogs better than just one as they provide companionship for each other.

Yikes, Linda that is hot. It was another pleasant day here. I had hoped to go through clothes when R went to his shoot but found the dryer left clothes damp. Luckily I had bought an extra large drying rack at Aldi's last week. R thinks the dryer is working now. Fingers crossed.

For supper tonight I made a salmon salad.

R was tired after his shoot. The 1st one In 4 months. Last month he went but didn't stay long. The muzzleloader shoot was more difficult than he expected. today..

The flooding In Texas Is terrible. Those poor people.

I hope everyone had a good day. Me, I'm hoping for a quiet evening

Re: REFORMEd SHOPAHOLICs week of August 27

Good morning..we sent our passport renewals off ..to Texas. I did check and it is going to the Dallas area. Our state will not have enhanced licenses until next year so I will need a passport for ID for a while.

sydnie is off to gymnastics shortly and my cleaning lady has s n her way.

linda, I ordered the sand color..my other ones are light enough to hand..this one will have to be folded. Hope Dh will s having a good day today.

i have pretty well decided that I am going to purge anything older than 2-3 years. When I buy new , I tend to wear that stuff more than my older clothes. M  never gets rid of anything...lol.

claudia..hope everyone is behaving at your house..m and syd went to the Vikings game last night and I could not find Pepper..she was laying in syds bottom bunk.

hope everyone has a good day.

Re: REFORMEd SHOPAHOLICs week of August 27

Interesting about the need for a passport, Barbara.  I renewed my passport fairly recently.  I have seen TV ads saying that you can get a travel ID/license in Arizona, but I have not looked into it yet since they said we have until 2020 or so.  I guess I should take the time to do so.

I continue to find things ready to donate, and some that I only purchased fairly recently.  I need to send things back or return things that don't work right away rather than waste the money.  The sand is a nice, neutral color.  Hope you use it often.

Funny story about Pepper.  Did the Vikings win?  I managed to watch some of the Redskins game at the house and at DH's facility.  Very happy that they won.  The "problem" lady who was out-of-control on Saturday was back on her good behavior.  Go figure.

Sorry R got so tired, Claudia.  Hope your dryer is working well.

I am getting worried about "my" niece who lives in Houston.  She posts on FB, so I'm hoping she will get back to me.

Waves to chessielady.

I went to strong bones this morning, and our leader was not there.  So, I lead the group.  Hope she is okay -- one of the ladies will call her to check (she is a widow who lives alone.)  DD seems to be doing okay, but it sounds like DGD is pretty stressed.  they are starting a class that includes yoga, and I hope that helps her.  There may be some light in the tunnel about DD going back to school.  She seems receptive to going to get a certificate so she can do bookkeeping.  Fingers crossed she will do so.

Need to visit DH now.  Hope everyone has a nice day!

Hugs,

Linda

Re: REFORMEd SHOPAHOLICs week of August 27

My state eventually will update the driver's license security but not before I have to renew mine for 4 years, Barbara. So unless I pay for a replacement I'll need to carry my passport for any trips by air.

R Is hoping to attend a muzzleloader shoot a couple hours away over Tthe holiday weekend. Wednesday he has senior bowling right after an appointment with the hand specialist so I'm not sure he'll have the energy.

I need to go through my clothes too. I just need a burst of energy. Lol.

Linda, I hope you hear soon from your "niece" in Houston. It may depend If she has power or access to recharge a phone. I see "ham" radio is helping with radio communications. My brother was never interested in learning from dad and when I was young it wasn't something for girls to do. Now of course I wish I had learned. My brother in fact said several years ago it was a dying hobby. I don't think so.

We've had another sunny day with temperatures in the low 70's and a breeze. I really should try to mow part of the yard but R says to rest my legs. He's putting together some solar lights I bought. We plan to put a couple out back. Maybe once Griff investigates them he'll stop barking at the neighbor's lights.

The news from Texas is horrible. I see the area we stayed for the Houston reunion is underwater.

I hope you've had a good day chessielady and the dogs are behaving- at least for a bit. The "upstairs cats" will be pleased I've picked up more canned cat food. Instead of dividing it up I think I'll put a can In a large shallow bowl.

Re: REFORMEd SHOPAHOLICs week of August 27

Glad your weather is nice, Barbara.  But, I'm sorry the lack of solid food is getting to you.  What a long time not to eat "regularly".

DD has a migraine today, and I know she isn't feeling well at all. Hopefully, Claudia and Cheesielady are fine.  Also hope R will take it easy, especially on the weekend.

It was nice on my walk this morning, but now it is hot.  The s senior lunch program went okay and I'm headed to the gym soon.  Then, I'll visit DH.  He was very sleepy yesterday, so I' hoping he will be more awake this afternoon.

The lady "went off" again yesterday, and they took her back to the psychiatric wing of the hospital.  In addition to throwing and breaking things, she is way too aggressive with the caregivers (hitting, etc.)  Her poor husband looked so sad -- I think he was going to follow the ambulance up to the hospital.

Found out the lady who normally leads strong bones class was called to help out the Lion's Club with vision tests and just forgot to give us a call.  Thank goodness she is okay.

No word yet from my niece.  I'm worried, but I guess I can only wait and pray for the best.

Hope everyone sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: REFORMEd SHOPAHOLICs week of August 27

I bet the liquid diet is getting to you, Barbara. Btw, when R broke his jaw and both sides were wired the doctor said he'd lose weight. Nope.  He very happily said one evening "you know, if you add enough water you can blend anything". Think steak. He actually gained weight. Is your test tomorrow?

I hope you hear from your niece soon, Linda. I'm sure communications  are difficult if not impossible.

Got the back yard mowed. R tried to help but he got too tired. It will take a while to build up his strength. Tomorrow is the hand specialist then senior bowling.

chessielady, Griffyn the pyr stole a hotdog right in front of us. R grilled 4 hotdogs and suddenly there were only 3 on the plate.

Re: REFORMEd SHOPAHOLICs week of August 27

I survived my colonoscopy. The dr removed 5 polyps and said he will know more next week. Yikes. We shall see.

we went out for breakfast and I stayed awake for my st of it. M s reLly off today and syd was pretty upset so I have no t gotten no chance to sleep. Poor sydnie..she is very resilient but at times it gets to her.

it is another pretty day..fall is in the air.

hope everyone is having a goo day.
