Hi Jazzmom....I noticed you reviewed A252237, Joan Rivers petite chevron maxi dress. I've had my eye on this one - maxi dresses traditionally have not really worked for me, but the design and petite length of this one is appealing to me. I read and trust your great reviews, so will you give me your opinion? Do you think this will work for a 5'3" 1x slight apple shape? I don't want anything too fitted, but I don't want something that is shapeless, either. And is the red in this dress a blue red, or an orange red? Thanks, Jazzmom ${#emotions_dlg.biggrin}$

Hi Beccaboone2! I carry my weight in my hips as a slightly pear shaped person. The bodice is fitted on me and then it just drapes downward. The red is the color of the WK red sweater with the candy buttons and the tie bow at the neckline (A219896)-- I called that color a 'Santa Suit' red. It is not an orange red either.

I just looked at other 'reds' I have in my wardrobe and it matches the red of the crepe blazer (A221808) and red of the ponte knit pants (A251581).

I hope that when its presented it will be on a larger person than myself, so you can see how it fits an apple. It has 4 pleats emerging from the bodice area. The pleats might hide the waist line in a larger person.

Thank you so much! I have that red ponte, so that is a great reference for me. I think I may try this one...just hate having to return things, especially as I have returned more than normal lately. ${#emotions_dlg.confused1}$ I appreciate the review and the info!

Did you end up ordering the maxi dress. Beccaboone2? I see it was presented on TV and is 'sold out' or 'waitlisted' in split sizes now in both regular and petite sizing.

Hi JJM! Thank you for your reply...I kind of forgot about it and now my size is waitlisted! But I will keep stalking it...I really want the red/black and I think it will work with my issues. Thanks again for your help! Keep your fingers crossed...many of my waitlisted stuff becomes available if only I have the patience to keep checking...
