One of the pieces on tonight's show looks (slightly) similar to one of SG's that I have from a couple years ago

A294493 (LOGO)  vs. A235619 (SG)

I have the SG in the gray.  I like the SG ruffle better than LOGO.  The sleeve is a good shape/fit and works well under a jacket.

You think $75 for a tee is bad, wait until you see the $99.75 for a cami. Smiley Wink

$100 for the Red Carpet tank top! Looked like a rag and didn't even fit a larger bust. I can't imagine anyone wearing that tank over a top.

I heard Shawn say "this is fashion"                    really?

To change the subject just a little, did you see Susan Graver's rendition of a LOGO top?  She also is adopting a similar concept with a top and ruffle border, wonder if someone is keeping track of that one, are people buying because of the name or the style?   Interesting if we see more out of SG.

@Mistreatedbycs  Quite some time ago, I said Susan better look out because Lori is snapping at her heels.  I think people would like to see more variety from Susan.  She's done 3/4 sleeve liquid knit in every configuration possible and we're bored.  Time for something new but not peak a boo petticoats.

I totally agree about the prices.  I find them so high that I don't buy any of hers.  I watch the shows but won't pay those prices either.

@Kachina624

I understand what you are saying but I look at it differently.

SG is considered a "house designer", the Q is enjoying a higher profit margin with her line of clothing.  The Q can control where the clothing is made, how it's made and everything relating to that item.

However, Lori is strictly a supplier and everything is different.  We have a "middle man" involved so there is a mark up from the LOGO factory that Lori enjoys and then it's sold to the Q for which they need to profit from it too.

If SG can created similar pieces to the widely popular LOGO, the Q would benefit from greater margins.

Should be interesting in seasons to come.

@Mistreatedbycs  Just gossip but the word on the streets is the Q owns Logo.  I wish we had a crystal ball and could see what these two are designing 20 or 30 years from now.

@BirkiLady  No doubt you meant the burnout velvet cami with multiple colors in the burnout and the beautiful lace at the bottom.   Not just a cami - somehow that doesn't quite do it justice.

@jonbon, you are right.  Q sets the pricing so blaming Lori is misplaced blame.

@Kachina624  "gossip" and "word on the street" is why I often ask people to cite their sources.   Until I see a credible source, I don't believe it.

I believe Q sets the pricing. In the outlet stores when they have their big apparel sales, they exclude LOGO. I asked a cashier why this is, and she told me corporate dictates the percentages off. They do not allow LOGO to be anything above 50%, or they won't allow the stores to sell it. They know despite the high prices it's popular and fans will buy it. I love her line, but unless I can afford it and it's something I really like, I won't pay full price for it, and will buy at the outlets. If you enjoy LOGO, buying it at 35% off is much better.

But for me, all of the Q's clothing lines are ridiculously priced. When you live alone and live paycheck to paycheck, something that is $40 and up feels like you're spending hundreds of dollars all at once.

@BirkiLady

I saw that last night, and was thinking who would pay close to $100 for a cami? Wow.
