I am in the market for a new down, full length coat( mid-calf) i have always bought Lands' End,but recently the quality has been compromised. LL Bean just doesn't fit me well. With Nordies sale coming up,I was wondering about the North Face brand. Is it warm? Does it wear well? Other pros or cons? Other comments? Thanks!

Do you live near a Burlington Coat Factory, or an REI? You could check out the various brands.

Love North Face - jackets, hoodie...

They are very warm, well made, and last a long time.

I've had really good luck with Macy's Gallery brand.

I saw a woman at a very cold football game wearing a North Face long down coat and she certainly looked warm. I would love to have one.

I like Northface, but I'm not totally wowed by Northface. And, I like designer labels. I just don't think NF is as warm as some think. I think NF is nice, but its' overpriced and sometimes bulky. And, I'm a person who occasionally goes for "high-end" brands, but...It just does not impress me as much as others. I do own one NF coat.

Northface is extremely warm, stylish and worth every penny. I have the midcalf quilted coat and and the black fleece jacket.

I personally do not own a Northface coat, but it's a very popular brand. The numer of Northface coats I see on the streets of Chicago on women, men, and children can't be totally based on status and wearing a trendy label. Another popular brand seems to be Columbia.

Thanks for the input. Looks like I'm going to be checking out North Face at Nordies sale. Any particular things I should look for?
