Re: Nordstrom Rack

[ Edited ]

@smoochy  I went to a Rack when one opened on our side of town.  Wasn't too impressed with it ..........same as you.  It seems that what they have in the store vs what's on line are very different.

My closest Nordstrom Rack is a great place to shop for shoes and sometimes handbags. At this point in my life I don't have the patience or desire to rummage through racks of one-off clothing items. If I am up for "discount shopping" I would much rather go next door to Banana Republic Factory or JCrew Mercantile.

I went to one once, never again. The clothes were so picked over and some hanging off their hangers. I didn't stay long and never went back. Now our Nordstrom store is the exact opposite. I  can't figure out why there's so little traffic in there. (works for me!!)

@Judaline  we don't have either in our small town but I often shop at Nordstroms when in an area that has one. I love Nordstroms but the Rack-not so much. My take on it is that the Rack is the clearance and discount arm? I am not a good bargain shopper, I don't have the patience but I sure do envy those that do-they get great bargains!

The Rack has discount clothes like outlet stores.  Not all if any items can be found at original Nordstrom.

When they first opened there were some recognizable pieces but not so much now they may be made / purchased specifically for the Rack.

Shoes may be different and originally from Nordies not sure on that one.

Just a tidbit about Rack, we have a regular Nordy's in our area, and in the lower level of it is the Rack, from what I understand we have the only Rack like this one being a part of the regular store and not a free standing facility. I have seen things being taken from the upper store and brought down to the Rack and marked down.

I like our newly opened Nordstrom Rack because I use it for online returns. Our big Nordstrom store is too far away from me for returns, and I don't shop that store.

Have one close to me but really not much to talk about. I don't shop there mostly because my credit card got hacked using it there. So always pay cash. My DD bought her hoka shoes there for alot less. It's not a place I make a go-to destination.
