@SanAntonioGal -- I don't watch or buy QVC clothing, but I read this forum.

Matronly......is a relative term.  What looks matronly to some may not look matronly to others.

Does anyone know what the male version of "matronly" is? I was unsuccessful in finding one.

"Matronly" conjures up images of Aunt Bee from Andy Griffith Show. She wore the floral dresses and hats. No slacks for her. She had gloves and her pocketbook. I wanted her to be my aunt.

I haven't heard the term "pocketbook" in a long time. I don't think anyone in my family ever used that term. Is it like a handbag or more like a wallet fits in one's pocket?

@Acf11  -  I have a lot of fashion in my closet from QVC over the years and I can guarantee you that I don't dress matronly.

Why are the fashions on QVC very matronly and the fashions on HSN more current and fashionable?

@Acf11 What would your answer to your question be?

IMO the woman makes the clothes/outfit , not the other way around. There is a great variety on both shopping channels , online and in brick and mortar. Enjoy and pick what is good for one's own purposes.

@paixmcdao I think the male equivalent definition of late would be 'dad' clothes/styles . I would say if you have a good one ,married to one, or are one just be grateful and don't be too concerned about the style.

@teganslaw I understand pocketbook to be a ladies handbag.

@teganslaw  I am in my seventies and was brought up using the term pocketbook. Everyone I knew called it the same thing. Had never heard of handbag growing up. Maybe different parts of the country call them differently.
