Love Macy's!  Today I spent less than $70 and got a bathrobe, 2 tops and 6 pairs of Gold Toe socks.  Free shipping, less sales tax.  I'm a happy camper.  They know how to market their products.

@kaydee50  I shopped Macy’s online sale today. I’m getting so lazy to go to the mall, flip through the racks, etc. By the time I find what I like, don’t have my size or preferred color. Online shopping took 5 minutes. Click Click Click and didn’t use any gas or have to get out of my robe. Lol

I've been spending more money at Macy's then HSN lately..they have great sales..and always sending me coupons..and I receive wonderful fragrance and makeup samples. I always include a beauty item so I get free shipping!

@Chicagosuburbangirl,

I like Macys, but I have only purchased online lately. They never seemm to have my size in the color I want in the store....probably because their racks are a mess....

Our store is not what it was 5 years ago....

Yes, beautiful architecture at State Street and in Oak Park too.

My mom would take me to the Oak Park store and I would have my little purse and short white gloves. We would stop at "the Pantry"( Fields bakery) and get a chocolate frosting covered chocolate cake cookie.

Most of the time we ate them in the car on the short trip home, gloves off of course!

The store was high end, yes. So very elegant in a way the world does not see too much of now.

Thanks for letting me reminisce. Such lovely memories. Heartwarming that some of you share the same.

Macys is my go to brick/mortar store too. Have gotten some screaming deals there. The clothes fit me very well too. Been replacing my gross dishes with fiestaware and Macys has the best prices going. Fast and free shipping too. And---I can drive to the store in 15 minutes. Got a $225 Fossil leather handbag---for under $70 with all the sales and coupons---the best!!!

@kaydee50I wish I could get excited about Macys -  there's one 2 minutes (or less even) from my front door.  Haven't spent a dollar there for several years now.

And my BIL and sister just yesterday went to a Macys  near them.  They will never return -  dirty, disheveled, etc.  They found what they wanted at the outlets where they should have gone to start with!

PS -  All 3 of us are dinosaurs who prefer to brick and mortar shop.
