It doesn't sound like you're saving any money buying the knock offs. The 2 times I've purchased Joy's they've cost me .50 per hanger...

I haven't had any breakage and the first set I bought was a few years ago....

The ones macy's sells are in fact from Joy Mangano for $8.99 for 10.  They had a 15% of coupon on the 8.99.  Macy's also appears to sell her other stuff as well.  As far as knock off, I doubt that because she may no longer own the patent; in addition other brands may be better than hers (don't know) @Andreatoo.
