@Katcat1  What a fun post.  Here is my dress, a rental - $135 or retail of just $895 by Theia.

I would love to see a challenge put out to the stars that for one award program...like the SAG awards, all the stars would have to adhere to a budget of say $500 for their dress, and donate the rest that they would spend to a charity of their choice.  I would love to hear the thought process on how and what they would pick.  

Of course, back to my choice.....with my gown, throw in some diamond earrings and huge diamond bracelet. Oh, and add Brad Pitt as my date.

My personal assistant spilled coffee on my custom-made Alexander McQueen gown!  So  Neiman Marcus sent over this dress.  I don't like ready-to-wear, but what choice do I have?  Designer : Zuhair Murad.  $9,875.00.

@CAcableGirl2  I know for the Oscars the designers come to the stars and wear their dresses so they are not paying for it.  I am not sure how it goes for other award shows.

The big stars don't pay for any award show dresses. The not so big stars have to shop and pay.

This would be my choice, my Christian Siriano dream dress. He custom fits it for me at his gorgeous store in NYC.

I'm not into big rings but it's fantasy so why not
