At the Vanity Fair New York Fashion Week party. She's 70, a model and mother of Elon Musk. I know she's been mentioned here before. She does ads for Cover Girl, I've seen them in magazines.

I hope when I get to be 70 I won't have the pressure of worrying as much about how beautiful I am.  I am fortunate that nobody really cares  that much and I don't have cameras around and a public personna to uphold.  

I feel sorry for women in the news as they age.  They have a lot of hard decisions before them.

Love the edgy Cover Girl pic; the Vanity Fair picture, not so much.  She looks like a "mature" woman in an elegant dress.  Maybe it's the hair.

Geez, could her legs get any longer! The white/grey hair looks great on her. I have no clue who Elon Musk is but he/she is fortunate if they resemble their mother. She's quite an attractive woman. I might get shoes thrown at me for this but I'm going to say it anyway. In regards to the Cover Girl shot, if the brows were natural instead of penciled in and the lipstick was off, to me that face is gender neutral. I could believe it was either male or female. She seems to me to have a bit of a masculine quality about her and yet she's quite pretty.

Maye Musk (née Haldeman; born April 19, 1948)[1] is a Canadian-South African model and dietitian.[2][3] Also the mother of Elon Musk, Kimbal Musk, and Tosca Musk,[4] she has been a model for 50 years appearing on the covers of magazines including Time. The New York Post asserted her self-earned fame by declaring she is "a star in her own right".[5]

Biography[edit] South Africa (1950–1989)[edit]

Maye was born in 1948 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, a twin[6] and one of five children.[2] Her family moved to Pretoria, South Africa, in 1950. Her parents, Winnifred Josephine "Wyn" (Fletcher) and Joshua Norman Haldeman,[7]were adventurous and flew the family around the world in a prop plane in 1952. For over ten years the family would spend time roaming the Kalahari desert in search of its fabled Lost City of the Kalahari. Their parents gave slide shows and talks about their journeys, "My parents were very famous, but they were never snobs," Maye said.[2]

As a young woman, Maye was a finalist in the 1969 Miss South Africa beauty competition.[2] In 1970, she married Errol Musk, a South African engineer she met in high school. They had three children: Elon Musk, Kimbal Musk and Tosca Musk. She earned a Master's degree in dieteticsfrom the University of the Orange Free State in South Africa.[2] She later earned another Master's degree in nutritional science from the University of Toronto.

In 1979 she divorced Errol. Two years later Elon decided to live with his father. Kimbal joined Elon four years later.[2] After graduating high school, Elon decided to move to Canada, and Maye followed him there with the rest of her children six months later in 1989.[5]

Canada and United States (1989–present)[edit]

Her modeling career continued in Canada.[5] She has appeared on boxes of Special K cereal,[2] in Revlon ads,[2] in a Beyoncé video,[2] she appeared nude on the cover of Time magazine for a health issue;[5] also nude on the cover of New York magazine in 2011 with a fake pregnant belly;[5] she was on the cover of Elle Canadain 2012;[5] and starred in advertisement campaigns for Target and Virgin America.[5] In 2015, she was signed by IMG Models.[5] In September 2017, she became CoverGirl's oldest spokesmodel at age 69, which one news story reported as "making history".[8][9]

In addition to modeling she has a business as a dietitian and gives presentations worldwide.[5]

I wonder what happened to the previous Chico model with black hair. I really liked her but someone replaced her & have not seen her since?

I think that dress is ridiculous.  They should look back at the way Betsy Bloomingdale dressed, timeless.
