Ladies, Please Don't Complain About Clearance Prices

Yes, its difficult to see you could have saved $40.00 if you were psychic and had waited 30 days to make your purchase.  But QVC has come into current practice of offering the clearance price discount percentages that the rest of the retail world uses.  Please don't discourage them or we will be returned to Jessica Holbrook suede jacket situations.

Oh, please! The Q's prices are too high! I shop many online retailers that offer coupons, free shipping and other incentives. The Q is greedy. About time for decent clearance prices.

I just think that once they lower the price and deem it as clearance, it should stay at that clearance price or go lower.  Having the price then go up again and still be clearance is just messing with the consumer.

I think what the OP is saying is that posters are now complaining that they purchased items at the higher price, the prices are now marked down, and they can't get a price adjustment because it's been longer than 30 days.

Many companies do this.  HSN mess with clearance prices, Kohl's, Macy's Penney's and I'm sure others all do the same.

Understood but Is not my or anyones place to tell others what they can or cannot do...ie complain or not about anything. Is quite the nanny thing to tell others what to complain about or not complain about. I can only speak for myself and be the savy shopper I hope to be or become. I can buy or not buy based on my own personal situation. (financial, taste, wants etc etc) I dont see QVC doing something different then others do and is my job to discern that practice and to decide if I want to buy into it......I do or dont depending on many factors...I usually do not open threads that complain of such and just let people vent if that is what they want to do... LOL none of this buying tactics online is rocket science to me hehehe.

If I can get a price adjustment (even as a "one time courtesy") for an item that a month ago was new to inventory,  I'll certainly try.   I'm not talking about something (ala Jessica Holbrook) that has been in the warehouse for decades.

You must work for Qvc's clearance dept...lol   First. Qvc's clearance are pretty high. It isn't unusual to see a $50 top marked all the way down to.....$48.75.  Second, clearance prices are not gift or a perk a retailer, including Qvc, gives to customers. It's merchandise that didn't sell well, or only broken sizes are left or they have the same item coming in soon and they want to sell that one at higher price or it's a return.   You seem to think Qvc is your good friend who has that little dress shop down the street...lol  It's a huge multinational vendor and they price things for QVC, not for the customer.

Re: Ladies, Please Don't Complain About Clearance Prices

Is the Q marking things clearance and then putting them back up to regular price and still calling them clearance or are they (supposedly) no longer on clearance?

I think Nordstrom's just did that very same thing (no longer clearance) with a Top Shop garment. I purchased both colors offered (sleeveless tees) for $10.00 but when I was giving a heads up on this great deal I found it back at the regular price! The reason I state 'I think' is because I can't remember if they actually called it a clearance price..

How can something be on clearance (not on sale) and then no longer be on clearance? Given the meaning of 'clearance' it's counter intuitive

I presume the OP was talking about the recent day of fashion clearance shows, where everything was 50% off and there was also a reduced shipping offer.
