Jessica Holbrook WASHABLE genuine suede jacket

I just found a "washable" - per label - genuine suede leather jacket in my closet, made by Jessica Holbrook.  It's lovely, soft suede - does anyone know/remember whether these Holbrook jackets really survive washing, in good condition?

It was a very long time ago but I do not remember the jacket washing very well

I think JH brand used to be sold on QVC. I remember those washable suede jackets being sold, but I never bought one so I can't offer comments on how well they launder.

I had one of those jackets 20+ years ago!  I do remember washing it with no problem.  It was a blue color and I really liked it.

I still have and wear a pair of JH pants, the acetate/span ones.  Still look good!

Re: Jessica Holbrook WASHABLE genuine suede jacket

I can't speak for the Jessica Holbrook jacket but I do have a washable Dialogue suede jacket that is probably 20 years old. It looks as good today as it did when if was new. To be honest I haven't worn it in at least 6 years. When we moved it got shoved in the back of my closet and I forgot about it. I can't remember if I ever washed it.  I also had a black one. It did not look so good after it was washed. It came out a little faded and stiff. I have a feeling that I didn't put it in the dryer and that might be why is was stiff.

My question is: how big is your closet?  I can't imagine "finding" something from that long ago in my closet.  You found a good one.  That was a good brand and washable suede was great.  What else did you find?  Does it all still fit?  That would be a problem for me.  Ha!

I have a few JH suede pieces in my closet.  That was a good brand.

Re: Jessica Holbrook WASHABLE genuine suede jacket

OMG---I had at least 4 of those washable suede jackets out of the 8, I had---and yes they did wash up fine, the drying was the thing that I needed to be very attentive to--had to smooth out the bends and wrinkles often and it did take hours to dry--if I remember correctly. Didn't wear them very often--not sure why I bought them in the first place---BTW--I did wash just the jacket alone, on gentle,  and not with other things in the washer. I donated all of them when I sold my house and moved a few years ago---they were all suede. And maybe would have put them in a pillow case to wash--didn't think about that until just nowWoman Embarassed
