I'm thinking about getting some "got a new job" clothes for a true petite. 

I was surprised that QVC doesn't have an actual petite department, so I'm asking those that would know .... who offers (or specializes) in a good range of petite clothing?

In addition to other great suggestions already listed, I was recently surprised to see some great looking petite styles in a North Style catalog. Regretably, what QVC calls "petite," isn't. It is typically only slightly shorter than regular length and is only rarely correctly proportioned for a shorter person in any size range. QVC is missing a large market in my opinion.

Macy's has a wonderful selection.  Kohl's does too but not as many choices as Macy's. Loft offers petites as well but can be a little pricey.   Good luck shopping!

For true petites that will offer clothing you can wear to work, I would recommend Ann Taylor, Talbots and Macys. 

Also, Susan Graver does have several petites too. Her premium stretch and ponte pants are very nice for work and come in petite sizing.
