I do occasionally iron a garment, but have found it easier to use the vertical steam feature on my old Rowenta iron.  Works so well for me.

 

I also sometimes dampen a hand towel and toss it in the dryer with a dry, wrinkled item.  It kind of steams out the wrinkles as it heats and tumbles.  Only for about 5 minutes or so, and the wrinkles are gone.  

I also use wool dryer balls and it kind of softens any garment if it feels stiff after line drying.
