I am going to a garden wedding in May & a black tie wedding in August.

Starting to think about dress shopping. Just wondering what stores you

would look at. I need 2 different dresses & don’t want to spend a ton.TY!

How exciting to go to such wonderful events. I was just at Macy’s and they had some really nice dresses. Also Soft Surroudings has great dresses. Jjill and Garnet Hill also Sundance catalogs. Good luck and have fun shopping for these wonderful occasions.

Do you have a budgeted amount in mind?

What size range and style please?

@lolakimono may have some suggestions.

Nordstrom’s has great dresses. We’re you thinking long or short/cocktail.

If you're open to online shopping, you can get some deals at 6pm.com, lastcall.com, saksoff5th.com and nordstromrack.com.

Coldwater Creek has had some quite nice dresses which could easily be for a wedding.

I would NEVER shop online for a dress to wear to several weddings. Take a ride to your local Macys or whatever b & m store.

Amazon has a wide variety of dresses for wedding guests. I’ve bought a couple of dresses for weddings from them - one was a gown and the other was tea length (mid-calf). I received many compliments on both. I’ve never used it, but they offer something called Prime Wardrobe where you can order a variety of clothing items, try them on at home and only pay for the ones you decide to keep. You simply return the ones you don’t want. I think the return shipping’s free.

I wish back when I was needing a more formal occasion type dress, that online shopping offered easy returns!

My choices for my size were so limited. I had to take what I could find.

It is my opinion now, that various sources are completely ready to offer liberal return policies, since this is what the consumer needs in order to make purchasing from them a successful experience.

Nordstrom saved me back then ... but it was necessary for me to make two trips.

The first trip was for the associates to help me. Then they got my preferred style from some other store.

Then i went back in for a fitting.

That was “way back” then.
