Re: Host said it is time to start transitioning into Spring......

[ Edited ]

I saw Easter baskets and candy next to the Valentine's Day stuff in the grocery store today. I believe Easter is the last week of March this year.

It's hilarious, ice melt and shovels and Duraflame logs literally across the aisle from Easter items. Soon will be the grocery store patio furniture across from ice melt.

Hosts talking about transitioning is just a sales tactic. I haven't been in any clothing stores recently but I think QVC is pushing that long before stores are.

@Krimpette Thank you, well that makes the push even crazier. Soon Q hosts will be talking Easter outfits. For egg hunts, Spring version of pumpkin picking Smiley Very Happy

I was in Von Maur very close to Christmas.  They were already putting out some Valentine's Day candy and some Easter things.  That was before Christmas...

I think they mean transitioning but I'm not ready to transition.  I never shop for spring clothing until I take an inventory and see what if anything I need to punch up my spring clothing.  It's January 9 and I'm not in the mood to inventory my spring and summer clothing.  Others may want to shop early and that's fine.  I did buy spring clothing early once or twice and ended up forgetting I had purchased them.  Waste of money for me.

Funny, but l get annoyed when l see winter clothes in the stores in July and August. But the reverse isn't true. Seeing summer clothes coming into the stores in the dead of winter actually makes me happy, even though l'm not ready to buy them yet.

Re: Host said it is time to start transitioning into Spring......

It's not even mid-January, so those of us who will be getting a lot more snow and ice can only dream about transitioning to Spring! Since I'm retired I definitely don't need any more winter clothes, but I love looking at spring clothes. Yesterday I ordered a pair of DG2 white jeans and a Marla Wynn top, but that will be about it since it will be at least 2 months before I can wear them. I'd much rather buy a few spring pieces anyway....I can dream about that warmer weather that will eventually arrive! Phooey on heavy sweaters and coats!

Re: Host said it is time to start transitioning into Spring......

I wish!  We're just getting started with winter -- unfortunately!  I wish spring were just around the corner.  But we actually have like 3 months to go!!!  Seeing spring and summer things doesn't make me feel good -- it depresses me!  A couple days after Christmas I went to a couple places to see if I could purchase a couple little Christmas bargains like cards, etc.  Ha -- that was a joke.  Everything was getting boxed up and they were already putting out Valentine and Easter stuff.  This just really annoys me.  I just walked out.  I can see putting things out like a month in advance, but -- really?  I hate the way the retail world works any more.

Re: Host said it is time to start transitioning into Spring......

We had snow and ice last weekend and bitter cold and next weekend it is supposed to be in the 60's and raining.  I am glad to see the new spring things starting to emerge.  I like to wear those colors and the florals.  Even when it is cold and rainy.  It makes me feel better.
