Me and my hubs moved to NC from WI a year ago; I didn't wear capris because our summers weren't that hot. Now I need capris for around the house and mowing the lawn.
I love QF Dreamjeans but I think they're a little heavy for outdoors and puttering around the house in our NC summer weather.
With the hot Southern summers I definitely need some shorter, loose pants. I've looked at them on QVC until I'm cross eyed.
Can someone suggest something here on the Q that is lightweight, not tight, easy to wash, breathable and will not pull or bind while sitting on a rider lawn mower? I don't really care how they look since these are for utilitarian purposes.
I would go to a local store and look for something but I have a disability that makes that difficult. I'd have to buy a bunch of stuff, bring it home to try on and take back what I dont keep so I figured I'm just as well off buying here; even if As Is or on clearance.
I wear an 18 or 20 and would love something I can wash by hand in the sink. My husband does the laundry (downstairs where I can't get to it) and while he means well, everything gets thrown in together and then dried on "Fry" for two hours, lol.
So, if somebody can suggest something that will work I'd surely appreciate it.

I live in the south too. Dreamjeannes are wonderful but too hot for this climate. I struggle w finding lightweight cotton capris too. I wish qvc had more to offer in that department.
The red bullseye store sells online. You might try them. I don't feel disloyal to the Q for saying this because they just don't offer what you need in this instance IMO.

Definately, you need to stick with D & C on Q, )look for the ones that are the wider at the end of the leg), however, for mowing, I'd pick up some summer weight knee length shorts or inexpensive capris at Walmart.
Q has a lot of capris now on clearance and they go out in sizes XL up the quickest. Apparently they're redoing the offerings.
I'm in W NC. Where are you?

We live in Clemmons, about ten minutes from Winston Salem.
Mowing the lawn and watering plants, filling bird feeders, etc. is a whole new experience here, lol. In the ten minutes it takes me to water the container plants on a hot summer day, I get sunburnt!
I always wait until 6 or 7pm to mow the lawn (1.5 acres) but even with the sun going down, it is a hot, sticky affair. Even sitting on a riding mower!
I've learned to take reviews here on QVC with a grain of salt. I always read them, but what works on one body doesn't necessarily work on another body. So I'm willing to give anything a shot; for my purposes I'm not looking for something fashion forward.
I need something I can wash in the sink with Woolite, hang to dry, and have it be ready for action again four days later when I need to mow again.
Walmart probably makes more sense but I have a disability that usually means I can't use dressing rooms. If I try to put on pants while standing up, I can lose my balance. If I sit down, the seat has to be high or I can't get up. So shopping at brick and mortar stores doesn't work well for me when it comes to pants, unfortunately.

I'll take a look; thanks! I just need something that is utilitarian. I've seen lots of pedal pushers and capris here on QVC but they are mostly made of fabrics that are just too heavy and warm for my purposes.
I don't wear shorts; I hate my legs from the knees up; they would fry in the sun anyway after years of no exposure, lol.
Thanks for your input!

I've been pretty happy with my online target orders. The capris I have from qvc are just dressier and heavier, even if they are cotton. I wouldn't do yardwork in them.

Go to Walmart; White Stag makes a great line and they're around $12.

I'm in the cool, green mountains but you probably wouldn't like my yearly ice and snow, although it hasn't happend this year yet! We're in Asheville, a vacation destination for many.
You should be watering very early or late. It's better for your plants.
Most people do use a sunscreen (I get the highest of Netrogena's Dry Touch. No goop what ever!) down there and wide brimmed hats. They have good spf hats here.
I do well with the reviews. It will be much easier as you post more and read the reviews. You just need to find someone with your body type. Love that little slide scale for smaller, larger. When those are available, I never make a mistake.
You can always call me by using an @ symbol and my name. Hope you're having the butiful sun I'm enjoying today!![]()

I can't think of single retailer that doesn't allow for on line shopping...well maybe thrift stores and consignment shops.

I like Denim and Co A252697. I have lots and wear them frequently in the heat of summer (VA). 5'5" and 118 and I prefer a "S" and they are not tight at all - I like them that way.
Wash and air dry and they are perfect.
