WOW! If all the hosts "own" and "wear" every clothing/shoe item or use all skincare they claim to swear by or makeup lines they "use every day", I would love to see how they store it all in their closets or makeup cabinets. Who do they think they're fooling? Not me. Really bad sales pitch & not truthful.

I've always assumed it was merely a sales pitch.

@Krimpette Definitely. Me, as well. Just don't understand why they assume we believe it.

Have you read any of the posts here? From what I've read, many of the ladies here have at least as much as the hosts claim to own. I don't really care how much the hosts have, or whether or not they really own or purchase what they say. I buy things I like if the price is right, if not, it doesn't matter what they say.
I know someone chastised Carolyn one day on her facebook for owning so much (yes people are just as rude on fb as they are on these forums). Carolyn did reply to her (something she really didn't need to do IMHO), and said that she regularly goes through her closets and donates a great deal as she adds in new purchases.

I believe some of them do buy a lot of things (like carolyn). But to say they use every beauty product is ridiculous. It's ALL sales hype. It's their job.

Well, TECHNICALLY ... it IS possible ....
Let's say a vendor is scheduled to do a show 30 days from now, and knows who the host will be. They could send the host a "sample" to try and that host could try it for a few weeks prior to the show. When the show day comes, that host can honestly say they have been using the product every day .... and not be lying.
Many women try new products, and then move on to the next thing .... so I'm sure the hosts do, as well. JMO

I've wondered the same. Many hosts, some more than others will say "I have this in every color", or "I bought 3 of these in black so I'd have them, you can never have too many black vests, pants, tops..." and as you commented whatever beauty products they are promoting they swear they use! One host in particular swears she has over 40 skinnytees!
The host(s) that repeatedly order while they are on air promoting an item can get annoying at times when they do it regularly. Recently I was watching a line that finally got their own show, it was airing for the first time and was highly anticipated. The host held the show up ordering then wasn't sure if she ordered right size, so she tried again to see tag while she had item on, then had the designer look, designer couldn't see it, host tried again and instead of taking it off to look host ordered anyhow and said she'd continue show, but then was so obsessed had the model look! It was really overboard! That kind of thing makes me think they are the ones with a shopping problem as this host especially often talks about the high end stores she shops in regularly, so I've decided my little shopping problem is nothing to worry about. 😀 I wonder if their partners knew what they were getting into and if their shopping is ever an issue at home. I too wonder where they put it all! Yes, it's none of my business but I can still wonder. 😀
In their defense I bet the staff gets a large discount on everything QVC carries, and I'm sure designers and distributors of beauty items, pots and pans etc...give them samples galore so they probably aren't spending near as much as it appears. Most of all it's their choice to buy what and as much as they buy, they make a lot of money and probably can afford it, and shopping is the business they are in and are promoting, and its their business what they do, but I think since they are public figures they are fair game. 😇
I do wonder how much of what they claim to own and use is actually true vs. sales pitch and job description but I guess it doesn't matter, it's all part of being a successful salesperson it's not like they have an obligation to us to be honest.....or do they?
I think I got just a tad, okay maybe a lot off topic. Please excuse my rant and as always thank you for letting me share!

@Buck-i-Nana Lol. If you could se my closet and I don't even work anymore. So yes, I agree, not that hard to believe.

Again, whether the hosts buys a product or not should have no bearing on why one should want to buy the product. The hosts are just talking to fill time and make it personal so you will buy from them. I think they would sell more if they just gave more info about the products and showed the models and demos more.

I don't hear all of them doing it as a matter of fact I don't hear most doing it. There are those that do but the Q helps perpetuate the myth with shows like Shawn's Beauty Secrets and Caroline's Closet!. They certainly don't discourage it
