Wouldn't a younger host appeal to the audience they seem to be seeking? There's nothing more pathetic than mutton desperately trying to be lamb, and clueless as to how to go about it.

I'm a very good QVC customer. I'm a baby boomer. I guess QVC is going after a younger audience which is good business. I would remind them, however, that baby boomers still have money to spend. I have enjoyed PM style for many years. I'm sure Shawn is a lovely person but she is not for me. I feel like the whole show has been infantilized and cutsified for a younger audience and I am not interested in watching. At least give me Jayne and Pat. I am no longer interested in this show but I think that is what QVC wants---younger viewers, a little less sophistication. OK.

But we got all the money! I agree - That's okay, there's very little I need these days.

I didn't watch except for flipping to it in the beginning, but then promptly flipped out. Enough for my DH to remark on Shawn's "ugly outfit."

Boomer here, too. Although I do like some of the newer styles and have bought several pieces of LOGO and Isaac. However, remember when Talbots thought they needed to change for the younger generation? It almost closed their doors for good! We are the only generation willing and able to spend money on the things we really want.

I too am a baby boomer and always had qvc on in the back ground while I read or did whatever but not anymore. Programs are so silly and boring and the TSVs are not even interesting or new. I will record a show that I think I might like to see and then fast forward through the stuff I don't like. Does anyone really want to buy a sweater at this time of year?

For the longest time she only wore leggings with layers of logo and boots. She always mentions that she's into comfort clothing. What is anybody supposed to believe?
I do not believe a word she says. Her selling tactics are shifty.

Funny, I find ALL the hosts are dishonest,,,,the skin care pitches and claims are out and out false.

I don't watch PMS, but QVC will never capture a younger audience. Inventory like B Mackie, LDO, D&C, S Graver and Quacker is totally for older ladies who want to hide their figures. Everything is stretch and liquid knit.

Unfortunately, that's how I see it, too. It didn't used to be that way. They used to present the product with some semblance of what the product was all about.

I don't understand why QVC would court young people. If you are YOUNG you aren't sitting around watching QVC and you probably don't have the cash to buy their clothes, but if you have a good job you aren't going to buy their clothes either because they have nothing a young person with a good job would wear to work.

Mutton dressed as lamb seems to be their target audience. I think they are geared to 40 and up women who are trying everything to look younger. Doesn't that seem to be it? Look at all the skin care they shove out the door selling "hope."

I am 49 I don't know if I am a Baby Boomer or what, X generation? But I am with you. I don't like the new shows on Monday and I do not watch. I don't like to be yelled at and I want a sense of decorum on the part of the host. I expect people to use proper language in English and not try to "sell me a car." I will not watch anymore.

I would have liked Sandra Bennett to take over PM Style. I can relate to her; she is very classy.

And yes, when you are older and your an empty nester like my husband and I we have more disposable income. In fact, I have never had the chance to buy from QVC like I do now so I hope they take care with how "low brow" they are willing to take QVC to entice young people to buy. Knowing my children, 25 an 28, young people don't watch much TV--they buy from the internet so I don't know how the Q's format is going to work for that generation in the future.

jewelfool, do you think that Talbots has learned its lesson? Do you think that they are trying to get back to their roots? Gosh, I was horrified when they completely changed their stores.

Yes, just too many white lies for me which really turns me off. I don't like her for that.

She also preys on the sad viewers to make a sale and seems to encourage them to dwell on it. jmo
