Re: Favorite length for winter coat???

I like a knee length coat for my dress coats and thigh length for my winter jackets and parkas.

Re: Favorite length for winter coat???

All of my winter coats are below the knee. I do not want the "down south" to get chilly.Woman Embarassed

I like mid thigh the best and agree about having your butt not covered.  It's way too cold for that where I live!  I always have a mid-calf-length coat that's very warm for the uber-cold days.

Re: Favorite length for winter coat???

Living in a downtown location walking is my main mode of transportation, followed by buses.  Rarely, am I in a car or cab.  I love a chic short jacket as much as anyone, but that is a useless style for me once winter really kicks into high gear.  I have a wardrobe of outerwear, so for temps such as we are experiencing this weekend the jackes are what I'm reaching for.  However, when the cold winds really blow I'm generally in a 3/4 and 7/8 length coat.  I have some that are longer, but a couple of them are rather dressy and I save the down maxi for sub zero weather.

Since the question is favorite length, my response is top of the thigh, but that is a length with limited wear for me in my region.

@Goldengate8361

When I lived in Chicagoland, midi-length was my favorite for winter coats. Cover, wind blocking, warmth.

For a really cold day here in Florida (nowhere as cold as cold up north) a jacket covering my derrière is good.
