SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, NOV. 25)

Good morning, shopping friends. No shopping plans for today. It is a beautfiul sunny day, one that would be good to get out. I have no plans for that,  however.

I see that my big purchase from the Q on Black Friday is in process and cannot be cancelled: the Mally Shadow Stick 8-piece collection. I am about out of eyeshadow so I decided to try this. The SG set of two turtlenecks shown on Thanksgiving Day is also on their way. I think it is time to call a ald to shopping but I will call those my Christmas gifts from me to me.

Havea great day. If you shop, shop wisely.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, NOV. 25)

Good Morning Jean @KonaKat   Despite receiving no less than 40 emails per day this past week, I can't think of anything I need or want.  I went online yesterday before and after I finished raking the backyard and thought for sure I would hit on something that moved me.  Nothing!

Paying off the mortgage managed to loop back around in the old memory banks so I checked Quicken Loans to see if they posted anything about the release of lien/discharge of mortgage.  When I didn't see anything there, I went to my county's website and discovered they had some speedy option that allowed me to check my property and see that yes, the lien/mortgaged was discharged - in June. Woman Mad

Using paypal, I paid the $6 fee and was granted access to the file to download the discharge of mortgage.  Not as exciting as receiving something in the mail, guess it will do Woman Happy

Bernie--Having physical proof in hand of the discharge of the mortgage is, indeed, an exciting purchase. You worked hard to ahieve that ahead of schedule.

I'm back to trying to find items to leave the house. It seems like a lot to me but I have 12 handbags, some of which are several years old but in good shape as they weren't inexpensive so they last. I also have a habit lately of buying less expensive handbags and usiing them as they are lighter weight and organize better as in Travelon, eBags and Lug. Those lightweight bags are included in the count.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, NOV. 25)

Good Morning/Afternoon and thanks for getting us started, Jean.  Glad your weather is nice today.  Like you, I ended up ordering things on Black Friday.  Not here, but the place where I buy bras was having a sale and free shipping, and I was in need of a replacement.  And, two items that I have been considering on Amazon.  One is a special pillow (supposed to be better than My Pillow), that was reduced by $15, and the other was another pair of walking/running (but I don't run) shoes that were also reduced.  None of these items were true needs, but I don't regret buying them.  Interesting about your purses, Jean.  I have many more than I used to, and basically for the same reason.  I just changed to my winter (leather) bag.  It is not heavy, but I am wondering if I will be bothered by the weight and the less organization.  It does have several pockets, etc.  Just not as many.

Glad you got proof of your mortgage release, Bernie.  That must be a wonderful feeling.  I think many of us go through the ups and downs of shopping.  Wish that I didn't have so many ups.  LOL

It is lovely here today, but should get up to the mid 80's (more than 15 degrees higher than average.)  I am not complaining one bit.

My laundry is started, and I'm leaving soon to visit DH.  Hope he is more awake today.

Have a nice Saturday everyone!

Hugs,

Linda

Linda--Enjoy your purchases. I am sure that you gave much thought to them before buying. It is so true that we have our peaks and valleys when it comes to shopping control. It is truly one day at a time. I do hope DH is more awake today when you visit.

Jean, enjoy the beautiful weather & your purchases.  I have not ordered Mally, but have been tempted.

Bird Mama, congratulations on NO more mortgage payments.  I like paper bank statements each month & paper everything.  I just know when to start shredding.

Linda. I hope that your DH is more awake today.  I don't ever think that you make unwise purchases.

After being sunny & 60's yesterday, we are still having great weather.  It is supposed to be in the 50's all next week.  20° above our normal highs.

I had a fun shopping spree at our local clinic gift shop this morning.  Everything is 30% off every Saturday.  I got 2 pairs of hoop earrings with omega backs which are my favorite.  One in silver tone & one gold tones for $4.79 each.  Then I got a cute framed cardinal picture with very tiny sparkling lights for $13.99.  I am not sure where will put it, but I will find a place.

I walked downtown, but mostly window shopped.  Then it was lunch time.

Hugs to all of you.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (SATURDAY, NOV. 25)

I spent a little money today Woman Very Happy

First I went to the pet cemetery and put out the seasonal decor.  This year's winter item was a great buy after Christmas last year.

Lucky for me, each shepherd's hook came in 3 pieces and I was able to leave out the middle piece and have decor that was more proportionate for the setting.

I then popped into what has become 'my' Kmart in the past couple of years.  This Kmart will be closing in January.  It's northeast of my home.  The one straight up north of my home and a bit further away is closing and the one southeast of me which was my favorite when I lived in Detroit is also closing.  I don't know if there are any left in a 25 mile radius and that makes me sad.

I was looking at winter scarves and hats (I have nice suede gloves) but I really wanted something to remember the place by.  I found a small bird ornament in the style of delft porcelain

I then went to Meijer to check out their scarves and hats and to pick up a few food items that will ensure I am good until next weekend.

They didn't have my silk soy milk so I had to drive about a mile to Target, where, you guessed it - I found a scarf and hat, and 2 half gallons of my silk light vanilla soy milk.

I then hit the recycling center to drop off the paper, plastic and cardboard.

Last stop was Little Caesar's for a pizza and crazy bread.  All this getting in and out of the car to shop was wearing me out, lol.
