I prefer to wear a belt. Otherwise my pants would fall down .. not enough hips to keep them up.

It's my pet peeve.  I was raised by a very proper, well dressed woman and she taught us that when pants or skirts have beckers or some say belt loops, we must wear a belt to avoid looking sloppy or poorly dressed.  And that's what I did my entire life.  It's how I raised my girls.  It drives me bonkers when I see things like this.

Your waistline would be soaking wet if you wore a belt when it's over 100+ degrees outside...

@Desertdi

I don't wear pants when it's a 100 degrees. Fortunately for the people around me, it rarely gets 100 degrees in Seattle. Lol.

Even when I worked, I did not wear long pants in hot weather. When I traveled to the south pacific for work, I wore light wt dresses or skirts.

@kate2357     The last time I wore a dress (actually a suit), was the day I got married.      di

I no longer tuck my tops in.. I hate wearing belts.  They are are so uncomfortable.

I used to always tuck and wear a belt because my waist was teeny tiny, but now I don't care anymore. Comfort is #1 for me now.

The 1st models is wearing pretty tight pants, I doubt she would lose them without a belt. Perhaps bust a seam?

Seeing empty belt carriers on pants don't bother me at all.

I have never heard the term belt carriers. Is that an east coast term? I did use the googleto research...but it was no help.

Did find out Levi jeans were the first pants that had loops for a belt to hold pants up vs suspenders. Before Levi jeans, belts were associated with military uniforms and were often seen as decorative for non-military use. (According to the google).

(BTW, using the phrase "the google" is a nod to my sweet auntie, who would always ask me, "can you look something up for me on the google").

@ECBG -- do you know where the photo was taken from with the pink cargo wide leg pants?  What brand?
