I see nothing wrong with wanting to wear a little extra sparkle during the holidays if one is out and about a lot. Wearing it after the holidays looks kind of strange to me. It's an all right fashion for that one season but the prices should be more in line with what I call throw-away clothes that you only wear a few times. I prefer lasting fashion and don't normally purchase fads but I imagine I'm in the minority. I have recently seen younger ladies wearing a lot of flash to parties but I imagine they're purchases from lower priced stores.

They are trying to hide the fact that the materials are thin, and cheap by directing your eye to the sparkles.  Thats my opinion anyway.

I like a little sparkle once in awhile.  I purchased an Iman sequin top (all sequins in the front) and a matching jacket in a wine berry color.  It was on a clearance price of $19.99!

I'm wearing it out to a Christmas get together with a bunch of friends.  It's a really nice top, great quality and will look nice with black jeans or leggings.   It's nice to have some pretty clothes like that even if you only wear it once in awhile.

I do agree there is sparkle everywhere this year!

Only time I wore/wear sparkle was/is when I play the harp for a fancy to-do. Nowdays, though I prefer to put a sprarkly something in my hair.

To me, too much, like what we are seeing, is "look at me!" but not in a good way.

I am not a fan of sparkle either but a little shimmer of a lurex thread is ok-- depending on the item and how heavy handed it is. But the sequins and the stones and even the embroidery or applique--no--thank you. I did get a few of those type of tops back when I was working at a preschool--the little ones really did enjoy them. and I did order a pair of skechers sneakers that had the lurex sparkle to them that were cute too---

Ugly, that's the only word that comes to mind.  QVC can donate all that sparkle to the MACYS PARADE . That's where it belongs.

At my age the last thing I need is to do is Sparkle.

Re: Clothes with sparkle

[ Edited ]

I'm kind of guessing that anyone who needs to ponder whether or not to wear sequins is probably better off not wearing sequins in the first place.

Maybe even the second place.

I wear 'em. I LOVE 'em.

My favorite jeans are the LC high waisted flare jeans from kohls. Every once in awhile they have some colors outside of the typical blue jeans. I ordered a cream pair last week. The color said Ecru Shine. When I got them they had lurex thread in them. They are so nice. It’s very subtle and they are so cute. I love sparkle. I got one of the Kim gravel sweaters with sequins. It looked so good with those jeans yesterday for thanksgiving.

I also got wkrchers slipppers with rhinestones. I was shocked how they glisten like snow. They are the frosted ties on their website.
