i still don't understand the difference btwn skinny & cig...i know you said they are straight from the knee down...but the way they hug the calf...they seem more skinny then straight

@alohakz   They look like more skinny in that particular picture, but I own them, & trust me.  The leg opening of a skinny is 10"  the leg opening of a cigarette is 11"-12"   I own skinny, cigarette, straight, flare & wide.  The only jean style I don't own is the boot cut.  I like them all, but my favorite is the cigarette.  The cigarette is actually older then the skinny. I don't wear the stretch pull ons (like they sell on QVC) & I don't wear leggings. I'm thin and can pull off wearing them.   I like real jeans with a zipper or button closure. 100% Supima cotton or 98%.  I wear them all. And of course...American made.

@alohakz probably depends on the wearer's calf.  My calf is bigger than my knee (as you can see in some of the models), so if a pant is straight down from the knee, it will hug the calf.  

I like the pants to go all the way down to the shoes.  Not all the ones shown do.  I have small ankles and shapely calves, so a pant that is straight down from the knee may then look like the pants stick out at the ankles.  I don't like that look on me.  Hard to get a good fit in skinny/cigarette pants without paying for alterations.  Boot cut or slight bootcut down to the shoe gives a more finished look without alterations.

I wear mostly NYDJ jeans. So, translated to that brand, skinnies are "Ami," and cigarettes are "Alina." I have been buying the Amis lately, as they seem to fit me best.

These look more like jeggins to me.  They stick to the skin - yuck.  I hate jeggings.  When I wear jeans, I want jeans.  Straight leg, a little room between fabric and skin.
