@beckyb1012    Wow! Shag in every room.

I remember when kitchen and bathroom carpeting

was popular. I never had kitchen carpeting. I couldn't even

imagine trying to keep that clean.  We had seven people in the family.

I remember buying those matching sets for the bathroom, bath rug, rug on floor around toilet, toilet lid cover.

They were not really practical or sanitary with males in the house. I did like having the colors match the towels and decor, though.

Now, it is just tile in the bathroom and bath rug, which I keep draped over the edge of my tub. I don't want anyone walking on it with shoes that have been outdoors.

I think that people realized that carpeting in kitchen and bathroom was just a giant petri dish and germfest.

It really was, even with only one younger brother in our home, well you know..........

@I am still oxox   I remember wearing olive green stretch stirrup pants in 1965. Also, I remember when my daughter turned two in 1966, she wanted stretch pants for her birthday. I got them for her and they were stirrup pants. We called them stretch pants, back then.

In 1969, when I was expecting my son, I made a pair of maternity bell bottoms. They were very current at that time.

In 1966, I remember making my first dress that was above the knees. By 67-68 I was wearing shorter dresses and skirts, minis.

I was sewing a lot of clothes for myself and my three little girls, at that time.

I remember the peasant style granny dresses and I made one for myself in 1968. They were very popular in the early 70's.

I crocheted a shawl to wear with the dress.

I think we were sisters.  LOL.  I remember the same thing and I was the cat's meow and I dressed just like that.  I can remember girls at work wanting to dress like that.  That was a time when I was fashionista.  Now I'm oldista.

@Nonametoday   The fashions of the 60'sand 70's were such fun.

Now, I'm happy to mostly stay at home and lounge on my porch, wearing Stan Herman caftans and Birkenstock sandals.

@Enufstuff

I have been known to wear a gown all day long once I became a telecommuter.

In 1973 when my college dept. head visited my school,  I had worn a navy turtle neck, a cute ruffled pinafore top in navy and green,  black watch plaid with matching green knit bell bottoms.

If my students hadn't gone wild wanting to sew, she would have killed me!
