Watching a re-tun of Kim Gravelle's fashions with Amy Stran hosting.

The model at one point is wearing "Sour Apple" color jean with a merlot Boho Belle denim jacket.

Those Kim Gravel colors are just gorgeous, imo.

But the reason the Merlot/Apple is near and dear to my heart is this:

When I was in 6th grade, my "fashion addiction" began!

I lived in Royal Osk, Michigan and my best friend's mother offered to take my friend and I  shopping in downtown Detroit! She took us to Saks Fifth Aveuue...it had a beautiful polished heavy wood door the entrance!

These were the days when stirrup pants and mohair sweaters were "in". And the "in" colors were loden green and burgundy.

So, somehow I ended up with a beloved mohair sweater and a pair of loden green loafers! [another story goes along with the loafers].

Now it must be noted here that Kristen's mom looked like Lauren Bacall, which I'm sure is why my mother condoned me going shopping with them!

Honestly, this was a day for me to remember always!

Does Amy ever wear anything that she doesn't look adorable in?  She always looks so great!

@Citrine1 Being tiny helps..........Amy & an average model size looks like a totally different garment to me.  That's life..............

Remember angora sweaters?........

Way, way back I loved to see angora and mohair sweaters.

I had a blue one, possibly angora, and a loden green mohair.

That's when I wasn't 'itchy' at all, without any sensitive skin.

Now I have to wear 'silky' types of long sleeved blouses, shirts, and tops underneath wool and other 'itchy' sweaters.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Agreed.  I remember when I was tiny like that and most clothes looked good on me too (although I didn't realize it at the time).  As I push 70, I'm not quite so small these days.  Oh well!

@Citrine1 @ROMARY @fthunt

I fight the "battle of the bulge " continuously but since I'm 72 I rarely claim to be a winner at it! LOL

But, to me anyway, fashion and makeup are fun!

Amy looks great but I can relate...

the proportion of most fashions on me need to be tweaked...

I'm 5'0"‼️

Re: Channeling the 60’s

.........I like 'stirrup' pants!

I still have a pair of navy stirrups that I only wear when I think about it, which isn't very often.

Very smooth stretch cotton? knit.  I'll look at the content tomorrow and update you if it isn't an all cotton knit.

I like the way they look on me.  Very slim and tall look.   They are high-waisted.

I like that look.   Sort of  apres ski resort - ish.

I had two sisters and older than me.  They were working during high school and they had these skirts with matching mohair sweaters.  One had pink and the other blue.  I loved those and wished I could wear them.
