Sizing seems to be a problem with all the stores. I ordered a pair of pants from Talbots in the same size as ones I already have in my closet so I know they should fit and nope, they didn't. So back they go.

I always liked browsing in CC but didn't buy a lot since most of their clothes were too long for me since they didn't offer a petite version.

I never shopped at CC. And I have one within walking distance in the mall near my house! I just always thought their clothes were way too matronly looking for me. And I just turned 60!! I certainly don't dress like an old lady. Sorry for their employees though.

It's too bad when you hear of something like this, because it makes you wonder about any of the women's clothing retailers and their longevity. I only shopped at Chico's up until about a year ago when they clothing and jewelry stopped appealing to me. I completely stopped shopping there, and still feel that way today - it's weird!

The quality of the clothing has gone WAY down over the last few years.

I rarely go to malls anymore as several chains make it quite clear I am not in their demographics. Still sad to see another empty storefront.

I'm sad to hear this. I also agree the styles have changed and not for the better.

I shop a lot at J Jill and find the quality there is still very good. The styles suit me much more than CC or Talbot's. I've ordered a lot on-line and never seem to have a fit or quality problem.

I read the fine print.

It's 40% off REGULAR price clothes. Stuff already on sale is not discounted further.

Does anybody remember Casual Corner? I don't know what regions their stores were located in, but I used to buy so many of my work clothes there. I could walk in the store and look at the suits, and say "I want that one, and that one, and that one....." - of course I couldn't buy them all, but they had good clothes at affordable prices - more classic looks. I don't know if any are still around, but they haven't been in my area for a long time. Seems like the somewhat "middle of the road" good clothing stores are going by the wayside and just leaving the higher end and lower end - not a whole lot in the middle.

I remember this store and I really liked the clothes. I also used to love a store called Petite Sophisticates. I would buy a lot of clothes for work at both these stores. I haven't seen these stores in years....

Sorry to hear this. I have purchased things in CWC.
