Chico's is having another 40% off sale if anyone is interested.

I was going to purchase a few tops. Pleasant surprise to find the sale.

I gave their site a look. Very nice things but, for me, even 40% off still leaves their prices pretty darn high! Happy shopping tho!

There's a good chance some of these sale items were cheaper a few days ago without 40% off.

True.  I ordered the Girlfriend Destructed Crop Jeans on Thursday.  They were on sale and I had a 20% off coupon from retailmenot.  I paid $25.37 on Thurs.  Today they are marked full price ($89.00) before the 40% off.

Retail pricing trickery.  How shockingWoman Surprised.  Sadly, it is a common trick of retail to mark things up to mark them down for special discount promotions.  Personally, I find it offensive and insulting to their customers.  Savvy shoppers like lyn and muttmom know these percentgages off may not represent the best price the item will be (or has been), but unfortunately the stores bank on most people not being so savvy and a lot of  shoppers will rush to Chico's to get the 40%.  Stunts like this make me feel that as a consumer,  QVC's always the same price policy with very few mark downs and special pricing, is treating me with more respect.

I'm sorry I can't agree with you about the Q.  How can a Judith Ripka cuff that was on clearance for $199 suddenly be $346? No new sizes or colors...exactly what was there before. People do notice.

Chico's does play games.  You have to stalk the best deal.

This drives me crazy.  When I see something I'm interested in, I monitor the price.  I never buy something without a 50% off code.

I find with Chico's I usually have a coupon for them, and if I want it I pick it up, otherwise the smaller items at my store seem to sell out.

I spend much less at Chico's than I have in past, the quality isn't the same in my opinion and I find way more at JJill lately.   I love a  lot of the items in window and catalog, but just not as interested as I once was.
