This was a funny post and I "got" it.

In a similar vein,  I have a current friend who hides frozen bread in my freezer. Her husband doesn't want to eat bread that has been frozen. So she hides it here and then defrosts it before he gets to see it. Yes, a true story! lol

Years and years ago, a coworker was getting married.  She bought 15-20 cans of hairspray a few weeks before the wedding.  Stashed them at her mothers.  We said, what the heck.....she said he will never let me spend. XX $$ on hairspray.  Well, they are still married......whatever.

That's why I buy jewelry.  It comes in small envelopes and he doesn't seem to notice.  Maybe he thinks they are prescriptions.
